Another winner from the Master of Rubber Band Blasters! Joergs slingshots are always works of art, even when made of scrap wood. The new one is awesome as usual, the knuckle guard on it is great looking and practical, and it's ridiculously strong in both setups. I know how tough OSB is, and it takes a massive amount of force to break through. I'm glad Joerg demonstrated "Its Features" with the tomahawk, as ignorant people think it's the same as particle board. It ain't. It's tough driving a nail through that, which I know from experience. We use that to sheet roofs here in Florida, because it's stronger than plywood and meets hurricane codes. Until next time, Auf Wiedersehen!

That Beachwood slingshot is freaking awesome. I love that you carved out the finger guard for it. I admit that when you showed us the wood piece blank I could not see the hand guard hiding inside of it. Now I want to make one just like it. I have practiced Alot in past few years and I'm getting really good with it. I set my target about 100 feet away from me and I can hit the bottom of my target I use a metal pint size coffee can. I drill the bottom of it 4 out of 5 shots an that's in the total dark, going off memory where I set it. I figured if I can hit my target in the pitch black dark then I can hit anything in the daytime. Just takes Alot of practice. I love this channel, this Beachwood slingshot, the air bazooka, and his huge steel ball or canon ball launcher are my favorite videos. Although the broom launcher for killing witches and the toilet bowl launchers are awesome as well. Yes, I've seen most of his videos and I love them. Another great video my friend. Thank you from USA in Missouri.

That is a really nice looking and beefy natural slingshot. I have no doubt it was a heck of a lot of work to carve that out even with power tools. The integrated hand guard is a really nice touch as well. I wouldn't be able to draw that back much at all, so it would be total overkill in my case. But it sure is a pretty bit of work.

A neighbor shot a 21 grain slug out of my pellet rifle, the slug velocity at close to 800 fps, which hit the can at the same grazing as your trebuchet... I mean, slingshot; the damage to the can here is virtually the same as on your can. Estimating your steel ball ammo weighs 6 × my lead slug, 6 × 21 = 126 grain with 289 fps velocity. 289 fps × 289 × 126 ÷ 450240 = 23.37 KE. The slug here: 800 fps × 800 × 21 ÷ 450240 = 29.85 = 30 KE. Your steel ball is about 2-1/2 × bigger diameter, so made a wider channel, so was making at least 40 KE at the can. I believe your setup shooting the big ball, that almost made a pass-thru of the OSB would drop a whitetail. Tho their skull is quite thick, there are at least 2 slingshooters that do harvest whitetail with slingshots. Thanks for showing. Your videos are always educational and entertaining.

Nice!!! I grew up using and making slingshots with my close childhood friend Frank. We used it for target practice and hunting small game like pidgeons. It was alot of fun, we'd loose our sense of time and end up being an all day fun activity. But it makes a perfect self defence weapon. The knuckle protector is GREAT for bashing in a person's face when the thug charges at me after a shot to their eyeballs.

I appreciated your explanation of why you use tapered bands. The same principle is seen in the taper of bow limbs and some traditional crossbow limbs. It makes so much sense when trying to get the maximum acceleration at the beginning of the shot. Speaking of bows, your stance while shooting the slingshot-that-was-broken-and-made-whole-again very closely resembles that of longbow archers, leaning forward with arched back. That also makes perfect sense because biomechanically, the effort is the same.

I used to have a slingshot many years ago that would fire a 20mm steel ball through car panels or old appliance steel with ease. It used surgical rubber tubing and came from a local gun shop I think, but it was 40 years ago. Way more powerful at very short 20m or less than my air rifle. 12ft lb in the UK. My friend cast me some 20mm lead balls to use. I still have some ball bearings so I need to make myself one. Thank you for making your content as I enjoy watching.
