This is why we are going to flip a dresser to my liking. The guy doing our bathroom has experience. I will be using epoxy and resin specifically for countertops and he will do the bottom portion and sink cutout.

Good move building the vanity. That was my thought knowing your capabilities and the difficulties you were experiencing. I love the high wainscot. In the future when you nail your baseboard on don't nail directly in front of the waste pipe of water lines or electric lines. I'm sure your nails were short enough to not penetrate anything, but you never know. You totally have the skill to repair the vanity you got or build one from scratch and just use the sink top from the damaged unit.

Oh I made sure to stay away from both those things. It might have just looked like I was close in the video. I realized that as I was putting in my first nail that I should avoid those areas haha! And yeah this second vanity was not worth repairing it was the cheapest particle board ever. I definitely think you’ll like the vanity I built! 🥰🤞🏼thanks so much for watching!

Mailey, you're doing a great job and I also love Menards. I've watched all of your videos and have taken some inspiration from the rooms that you've done. I'm almost finished with one of the bathrooms in my home. I am on the hunt for a couple of moody landscape paintings. I'm definitely not talented as you to paint my own. Oh thank you so much that means so much to me! I recommend Etsy digital downloads. When I don't have time to paint I do that and just put Matte Mod Podge over the print outs to look like real paintings. Hope this helps Etsy has a ton of painting digital download options. Can't wait to share the final part! I'm in love with the vanity!

Looking forward to what you come up with for the vanity. I'm planning on remodeling my 2 bathrooms this year (although I won't be doing the work at 67 with double knee replacements). Loved that first vanity and it's along the lines of what I'm looking for. I'm disappointed that it's darker than the pictures. It's looking great, Mailey. If you have a bigger bathroom then my mom does I highly recommend the first vanity it was actually really nice. I was so bummed it didn't work out but it was of the best. Thanks so much for watching!

You are incredibly talented at improving spaces simply yet tastefully. After all, they are not really bad before, just normal. After they are inviting and beautiful. I think the idea of building the base cabinet yourself is great. Nothing is worse than having cheap quality that looks shabby after a short use. Solid wood and good materials are much nicer and also more sustainable than cheap pressboard and plastic furniture.

I did look for something in local antique stores but nothing caught my eye. The measurements needed to be very specific. Part 2 will be up tomorrow morning can’t wait for you all to see my custom vanity. And I’m so glad I inspire you! You can do it if I can! :)
