I can't believe there is a market for the 71, 76, 78, 79 but not for the 73/74. I imagine the wheebase makes it more effective offroad than the rest of the series.

I had no idea these existed until last week lol. My brother co-owns a shop that customizes all makes and years of Toyota/Lexus 4x4s and restores classics. They are currently restoring one of these that he intends to give to our father. I had to ask what it was lol. He let me drive it in their little test course and I was insta sold lol. We are in Canada, and I found one for sale 2 provinces away. Well, one worth buying! I think I want it lol

You can buy these brand new in Dubai. Toyota make a shorty 76 series over there. Such a shame Australia didn't get them. But although still so much easier to try import a new shorty into Australia then to buy a 30yr old car and make it look like the V8,you've done really well to not be lazy and take every step you can yourself to build this thing up and make it a beast! Coils all round is so rad. And the FTE! Wow

The ones in Dubai are a 71 series grj71 plus left hand drive.

This bj73 is a middle base version. Have a FRP top- Fibre reversible plastic. And longer wheel base, than 76 series. The v8 powerful, but 1hdt fe more reliable and unpretentious. I like the new 76 with v8, but 73 frp is my favorite. But its very old technology in our days

I lived in Dubai for 24yrs and contemplated shipping over to OZ, a 2022 SWB Nissan Patrol with a 5-speed manual and 4.8lt straight six (standard in dubai). Contacted a few conversion places and the cheapest quote I got started at $55k just to convert LHD to RHD.
