I mean that’s why I tend not to buy a lot of cheap stuff just because I want to buy because I’ll end up getting rid of most of it. I know that there are a lot of people that justify their massive consumption because it’s cheap, they don’t have the money but you can still thrift or just buy one big piece from time to time that you’ll keep for sure because of the quality and maybe the overall quality of the show it was featured in if it’s higher end

Like I live in NYC, and I can only wear my denim jacket or bomber jacket in like end of April, early May. I do this too, my only criteria though is frequency of wear. I sort of stick to one look so alot of my wardrobe consists of variations of the same pieces. Rn I have 2 trash bags full of old clothes I never wear and am still thinning.

you're gonna be kicking yourself in the ass about that all saints jacket later. trust me. it's better to have a go-between stage like a transition box or closet or whatever for when a) your overall style changes / matures b) the item is just out of trend / season or c) you just really are having a hard time getting rid of it. sometimes old clothes that you think you'll never wear again will have second and third lives if you allow them to stick around and just put them out of sight for awhile.
