Native Canadian dude here. my people are Ojibwe and frankly im fine with learning about history in the context of history, The sins of people 200 years ago have no bearing on me, and even my grandmother being in residential school, I dont mind. People have to modernize sometime, To ignore development is to get left behind. The Problem is when people start telling me what my history "Should" be. I'm not a radical and im definitaly not...political Left. (Or...Liberal...as our Red party is called here in canada) I owe nothing to Trudeau. Infact there's proof of him being a Bloc Quebecois Separatist when he was younger but does anyone ever bring this up? not exactly. Listen the Left is using the exact same tactics that they accuse the right of using. Its a very dividing time and its going to come to a head soon enough. My question is weather anyone can see it or not.

It's really bizarre how this blame game works... like since the 1850s, five people on my mum's side of the family were murderers. One of them was a guy who killed three door-to-door salesmen (selling things like leather gloves) in the 1850s and he was consequently hung in Norwich Castle here in England and his death mask is still in the museum and it's really creepy because he looked like my uncle Kevin who killed a guy 10 years ago. Anyway, I'm not going to apologise for anything that my family's done because why would I? I had no say in what terrible things they've done, so why should I accept responsibility? This collective mindset of the left just seeps into all parts of life, I guess.
@roadie31243 жыл бұрын
I feel the same way about some of my ancestors. No murderers that I know of, but one was killed after a drunken brawl around 1830 to 1840. He fell over and hit his head on a dry stone wall. My brother and I reckon that we have a built-in excuse for having a few too many on rare occasions. It's genetic. The news that gave me greatest joy was when my brother discovered that our paternal grandmother's family were slave owners in the West Indies in the 18th century. This was the branch of the family that was very rude to my beautiful paternal grandfather because he was "in trade" and therefore socially unacceptable. His father owned a pottery company in Stoke-on-Trent. I don't feel that I should apologise for the slave owners. It wasn't my fault. But I relish the thought that I could probably get away with spitting on their graves.

Near 1/2 of them died on the voyage over and when they showed up they were treated waaaay worse than Hispanics are today. No Irish, blacks or dogs were the kind of welcome they received. @brookemckenzie48443 жыл бұрын
@d d Still doesn't change the fact it is geographically in Europe. So it still makes English people European, that fact will never change whether you or anybody says so. Everyone in the English speaking language knows that English people are European and the UK is located in Europe, so why don't you? Instead you deflect and complicate things even more because you know damn well I'm right. The only thing that's hilarious is you, I think you should go back and read what you're written to see who the one is that's trying to sound all "pseudo intellectual." Never mentioned anything about Australia so I don't know why you feel the need to bring it up just to prove your point when it's irrelevant because I never mentioned Australia at all and the only reason you brought it up is to sound like you actually think that it's the samthing. Well hate to break it too you, its not and doesn't prove your point, just makes you look like a smarta*s. It still doesn't change the fact that English people are European, that's how it's always been. The Uk is and was (as england left) are also apart of the European union, hence my point they're still European and will always be, whether they've left the EU or not.

Which is why it should be shared incessantly, like the numerous scam callers we Americans seem to be getting more often by the day. BTW, got a quick life hack to stop certain scammers(the discount for your cable or satellite TV) to pass on. These scammers often do use legitimate commercial toll free numbers, like direct TV and Comcast (depending on area, it could be someone else). So what I do once I confirm a specific number the scammer is routing a call through (needs to be a 1800 number for this to work - serious, this does work), I actually call the number. This is what I do. 1. Ask the rep to verify your name. They won't. They will verify a phone number and that's it, you got them. You hang up and immediately call back and choose a different option. Once they answer(usually the same person - this is an at home job so my bad but you work for scam artists and will be punished properly), ask for the supervisor on duty. Keep repeating it over and over until the scam artist hangs up. Repeat using different options and asking the scammer to verify some info you haven't given them until they hang up. By the time you go through the options a few times(took me about 14 calls to the scammer in about 12 minutes), they will BLOCK YOU. And presto, how to piss off scam callers enough to avoid you forever. Haven't had a single call in a few days from these scammers, so it worked.

For example is human right to freedom and for individuals who raped and enslaved thousands, I will definitely judge them for violating the human right and exploiting them.
