My wifey got me an IP for Christmas and I’ll probably never go out to eat again. My first dinner was garlic honey chicken thighs. I was so excited, that’s all we had - garlic honey chicken thighs. I totally forgot to make anything else to go with it. So we had chicken thighs and potato chips. But it was great. I made Mongolian beef over rice the next night and that was even better reheated the next day. Fortunately I have a rice cooker too, so I was able to prepare the rice at the same time. Love your instructional videos. Huge fan.

I've had mine for about 2 years. I love it so much! I bought a second one this year. Sometimes I am making yogurt or bone broth in one instant pot and cook dinner in the other. I have a small group of ladies from chruch that meet monthly at my house for dinner. I found out several of them had an instant pot, but had never used it. I had them all bring their pots to my house and we had an instant pot party. Made roast beef, baked sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, and dessert. It was so fun.

My son has had an IP for a year and loves it. I have used a stovetop pressure cooker for many years and recently bought a Presto pot but it works the same as the IP. I cooked potatoes for mashed potatoes, made a chicken stew I used to make in my old pressure cooker, and cooked a roast with potatoes and carrots. They all turned out wonderful. I probably won't use it as much as others but it is a good kitchen tool. Thank you for the helpful videos and recipe ideas.

Yes, I have used mine and I was fearful at first and my heart was racing like it might blow up. LOL But I am sure it was because of growing up and mother used the old type of pressure cooker. I have done, corned beef, stews many and sooooooooo delicious and the gravy ......omgoodness is out of this world. Pot roast, potatoes, carrots and hard boiled eggs are unbelievable. No more watching the water boil and hoping they are done. LOL It is amazing! I love it and am getting ready to make your recipe. I will be 74 in a few months so old dogs can learn new tricks. I am thinking now how much time I have used in 53 years of marriage on cooking longer than I needed to! LOL I love the moist meat and no dried parts. I do chicken breast and then make chicken alfredo. It turns out so delicious. I dice a lot of the chicken up for chicken salad sandwiches all week or put on salad and it's ready whenever my husband or the rest of the family pops by I have something to offer them...........it's ready! I love it absolutely. Last nite I did corn beef cabbage, potatoes, onions and carrots. Delicious and unreal how quickly it all went considering how long it used to take. Don't be afraid of it, it is the best thing that ever happened to the kitchen! All in one pot and clean up is easy! I am purchasing another one to take to our vacation home so I don't have to cook and make more heat in the kitchen on those hot summer days......it just makes sense in such a small space of a kitchen also. Love love love it! Blessings and ty for sharing all you do!

You can do toast, bagels, pizza, cookies, dehydrate, air fry, bake, roast, warm things up and ferment. Sometimes I don't even use the oven most of the time But I really do love the airfryer function! liliana Barajas I got one for Christmas this year too. You’re going to love yours. After you do the water test, you will get over your steam release sound. It hisses high and loud. Then you will feel more confident with cooking with your IP. I already made spaghetti, pot roast, apple cinnamon oatmeal and now I’m making baby ribs in it for supper.

@klb64535 жыл бұрын
liliana Barajas The instructions say to do the water test first. Which is a good thing. The first time you hear the steam hissing you may panic for a few seconds. But after that you’re okay. Just remember to use one gasket for savory foods. And the extra colored gasket for sweet foods. You don’t want garlic taste mixed in with your oatmeal. You will love yours. I think people freak out because we all hear the horror stories of relatives and their pressure cookers exploding.

Last year I upgraded to an instant pot 8 quart, my other pressure cooker was 8 quart. My old pressure cooker had all the buttons too, most of them that the instant pot has. Happy using this one for Year but I'll just confess that I like my old one better. It came up to pressure a lot faster than the instant pot. Hi Kristen. I got my InstantPot from a friend for Christmas and used it for the first time today. After watching many of your well done videos I decided a simple pasta dish would be my first meal. It turned out great. When it was finished in the IP, I dumped it into a casarole dish, blanketed it in Mozza and baked it for 15mins. The cheese melted and browned up perfectly. I did panic a little when I first started it on pressure cook (manual) because there was a bit of steam coming from the top and I was worried I did something wrong and everything would be ruined. As it turns out, this is normal, but something no one on KZbin has told us about in any of the "How To" videos. The small steam loss is simply the IP bringing itself up to pressure right before it seals and starts the pressure cook portion. Once I figured that out it was so simple. Just fill, press and wait. Thank you for all your videos. I enjoy watching them and really learn a lot. I also just want to say, I find it so cute the way you say the word button. Because of your slight accent it comes out sounding like you say it "buttin". Makes me smile everytime I hear it.

She mentions @ 03:00 that it takes 10-15 minutes to pressurize. :)

I love this recipe. It’s so easy to make. I usually bring this for pot luck dinners at work. There are never any leftovers. 😊

You can actually just cook it for 1 minute! I was so shocked! I tried the 4 mins...then 3, then 1... and it was perfect! Even still more leaning towards soft rather than al dente. Edit.... You don't have to use the saute feature. The heat and warmth from the pot itself will melt everything perfectly!

You can also cook for zero minutes - works great for vegetables.

@@donnahuntwork3086 I do it fairly often actually!... and, admittedly, every time I do I _still_ get such a kick out of the thought of "cooking for zero minutes"!... what a concept, huh?!! The very _first_ time I'd ever heard of doing that it *TOTALLY* blew my mind!! lol :)

Thank you for this video, I have two instant pots I got last year, and I have only used one once lol, but for Christmas I am going to make macaroni and cheese, and with the instant pot it will be so much faster. Watching your video helps thank you for showing how to use it. Merry Christmas.

Yes I love mine I will never make mashed potatoes on the stove top again

Thanks for this, you gave me the confidence to actually use mine. I have had mine for over a year and this is the first time I have used it.

Ok so it takes about 15 minutes to pressurize and 4 minutes to cook in the pressure cooker. 4 cups of liquid takes about 6 minutes to boil on the stove top (less on induction) and for elbow pasta, 9 minutes to al dante.
@BannedPhotoshop5 жыл бұрын
yah i dk how its really that much faster with the instapot

She did point out that she would have to babysit the stovetop version. Using the IP allows to to do other things. And you can use the IP for much more than mac-n-cheese.
@mrgallbladder5 жыл бұрын
@@eval3651 you don't need to babysit noodles boiling. It's the same thing, set a timer and come back when it's done.

Bought mine a couple of years ago and used it right away! Makes the most fabulous hard boiled eggs. One of my favorites to make is American goulash. Saute the hamburger, then dump in everything, set the IP and walk away! Love my IP!

The name seems misleading in our on-demand society... Why call it an INSTANT POT if it takes so long to pressurize? 🤔 🤣
@Antonetish8 ай бұрын
It doesn't take long. Cooking time is much shorter in the IP!!!

OMG Yes it's the best ever. Made potato salad. Potato and eggs done at the same time. I was overjoyed.

Soooo delish!! Add some chopped up turkey. Because of you I bought my insta pot and used it within a week of it arriving….That was six months ago. Thank you keeping it simple and real,

I finally got one! I have the IP duo nova 8 quart. Yesterday I made boston baked beans with onions and bacon. It took much longer to cook the beans than I thought. Learning curve. I also made country ribs. The ones with bones were falling apart. Thank you for your videos. You are an inspiration. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!

I tried this recipe today using vegetable broth, New York extra sharp cheddar, heavy cream, and half a cup of mozzarella.... Amazing! It tastes so creamy. Thank you for sharing! I have made pasta before but I would make a rue in a separate pan and make a bechamel sauce base with cheese. This was great to just use one pot!

My IP stayed in the box for months. It didn't come with a manual. You tube saved me. I love how tender meat comes out. I had missed my old pressure cooker from the 80's. Love my IP. ❤

Got mine. Opened the first day, did the water test and watched some instruction videos. Started using it the next day and have used it everyday since. Awesome cooker! I do not like the texture of chicken cooked in a crock pot, but I absolutely love it in the instant pot. Recipes that took 4 hours in the oven take one hour in the IP and that is with the meat frozen. Love it, love it, love it!!!❤️🥰

I love my instant pot! I think I watched your videos for a week or so before I got brave enough to order one, now I wouldn't be without one. I make carnitas, stews, soups, all kinds of yummy things with it and I don't have to babysit it. Which is amazing for someone who can't stand very long anymore bc of an injury. It's been a huge blessing

I am not new to the IP. Had mine four 2-3 years, but you can never get to much advice. I have avoided Macoroni Cheese before but that demo looks so easy that I may try it out and if I do not like it (as I think I may not) I will not have wasted too much. Thank you.

I've already watched a couple of your IP videos since last night! I just got mine on Saturday and used it last night! I made chicken alfredo in it. I was shocked of how easy it was to use it and the food turned out pretty good! I only had one pot to clean up!! I did burn my noodles, the IP starting screaming at me "BURN FOOD" on the screen. Wasn't sure what to do there. But for a first time Instant Pot'er, I was impressed! Thanks for your videos!!

I got my IP Max on Saturday. Today is Monday, 23/12 and I haven’t used it yet but I have shopped for the first meal that I’m planning to make in it - pot roast. In the meantime I’ve been watching videos on how to use it. They’re very helpful. Thank you!

Couldn't wait to use mine when I got it for Christmas. Already made beef stew and going to get some of the extra pan inserts for cheesecake and one so i can do the potatoes and meatloaf at the same time. I don't think I will ever put the pot away. Loved how quick it cooked the stew. Can't wait to try other things in it.

I got my instant pot on Amazon Prime day, and I use it every week. I make rice to add to my dogs food, I make ziti with sauce and ground beef, and I have made navy bean soup and quinoa, which cooks in 1 minute and turns out perfect. I love it and will continue to gradually branch out and make more complicated things. I watch your videos every week.

I grew up using my Mom's stovetop pressure cooker (aka The Beast) so the Instant Pot was a welcome relief. I opened mine as soon as I got it (maybe 4 years ago) did the water test first, then BBQ Chicken Drumsticks, for dinner. I use my IP weekly, for cooking dried beans and making stocks usually, and bless the darn thing every day!. I love your IP videos, Kristen....keep on doing.

I have had my instant pot for a year. Used it twice, I did not like it and it has been put away since. Watching your channel has helped me understand cooking with it better then any cookbook I have purchased for it. Thank you and I am pulling it out again to try again with one of your recipes this weekend.
