a tip for this and other us naval bombers: Use the naval mines. despite the name, they work as bombs. They have a bit less explosive equivalent, but are much lighter.

Magnetic mines weight a little more than 1000lb bombs, but are more powerfull. While 2000lb bombs still remain the strongest option as there are no 2000lb mines

@@quan-uo5ws if you know how to play you wont bleed as much speed as other plane infact i manage to kill unsuspecting other cas plane with flap on. Its surprisingly increase alot of turn rate than reduce your speed

The AM 1 had a payload of 2000kg , don't know how gaijin thinks a 6500kg plane can carry 4800kg of bombs like a Lancaster . This would never lift off the ground . 😅

@@danielmueller9931 No , it could carry a little over 2000kg ordnance on the wings . It had also 1900l fuel to carry , gaijin thinks empty weight 6.5 tons and max weight 11 tons means over 4 ton bombs . This is not how it works irl .

@@danielmueller9931 That was an unofficial armament test from 1949 and all you have is a photo , the official payload was 2200kg . This payload was never used in combat/service , this are the 4800kg like in WT .

I always wonder why the soviets did not build a ground attacker able to carry this much payload, sure they had the IL2 and IL10 but they have no where near the payload the Mauler or sky raider can carry.

Cause it's BS as it is in game , the AM 1 had a payload of 2000kg . This plane weights 6500kg , how should this carry 4800kg of bombs like a Lancaster bomber ? How should this stay airborne ? It has a max starting mass of 10600kg , but there are ammo and fuel also wich gaijin just ignored .

Because they already heavy with the amount of steel armor they have Remember that soviet attacker are mainly liquid-cooled engine which very vulnerable to anything even small rifle caliber bullet, which is why they put a lot of armor around the engine, radial engine (pretty much US Fighter-Bomber/Attacker) don't need this thanks to their well-known durability and even engine itself act as armor protection for the pilot Also having gunner complete with gun and ammo
