Not really undertier, the round is slow for an AA and radar is acq only and also not that good. It also need more ammo thats why it move down to 7.7, yes there's is things like sidam that also need to be 7.7 but gepard need to be 8.3

Little tip for landing the 262, just slide on your engines. You can even land at speeds excessive of 400km/h. And if you have your repair skill up it takes just as long to repair as it does to rearm.

This is basically the same 50mm and shell as on the Puma & late Pz IIIs. Imo it's better to attack from the side at really low alt. Most heavy tanks, even T34s and IS-3s, can be pretty reliably one shot from the side w/ the 50mm. Plus it completely eliminates the risk of lockup you'd have when pulling out of a dive, while letting you maintain speed the whole time. The only instance where I'd really encourage top down attacks are the times you encounter a tank or spaag capable of firing at you, who knows you're there and *is* firing at you, but can't fully elevate their cannons / roof mg.

The main problem with this plane is how inaccurate the gun is before you unlock the upgrade for it. Besides that, I love taking it out to destroy enemies, it's just satisfying.

I used air RB to grind up to him upgrade for it, strafing AI ground targets will get you a lot of RP, and the enemy fighters are usually busy up in the sky.

I like this aircraft, and have used it plenty. Its biggest downside (in my opinion) is the level of inaccuracy of the gun. It often causes one to either waste precious ammo, or forces one closer to the ground than one should reasonably be.

For whatever reason people like to fly these in EC5. My best guess is that the big gun makes it easier to take down B-29s and Tu-4s from a safe distance, but they die a lot to people flying better fighters and they can’t dream of catching fast bombers like the B-57.

Hvap is better. Simply because it is a lot faster round that helps immensely against other planes. Nothing worse that missing a passing prop shot just because your ammo is slow because most of those times in ground rb, you will not have the energy to utilize your speed simply because you have been ground pounding. And no, keeping your energy high does not help either because you know, ground rb prop spawns have enough energy to get at least one pass over you, which is more than enough for good pilots.

As a Russian main who's favorite br is 7.7 I should probably not say anything and continue to let you feed me kills, so appreciate this. Russia has at 7.7 radar guided 37mm spaa. I usually take it as 2nd spawn to clear the sky to deny enemy their CAS and secure air superiority for us. In downtier it's down right op.

forgive the stupid question, I have never played CAS in War Thunder at all, but I have played many flight sims. Why not just throttle down during the dive so you don't hit the ground? Every clip I see of someone in a plane in Ground Realistic, the throttle is pinned at 100% all the time. Of course energy retention is important but it still looks weird to me.

I usually don't go for second passes. A few rounds against a tank especially one fighting my team they are easy to spot. Kill a few crew... Light on fire. Fly away to wound another and pick assist. (Ofc your team is Germany so don't get surprised if you wound 6 enemy tanks badly but get 0 assists)

That's how everyone should play. Supporting team, not trying to get 10 kills. I usually spot enemies by damaging parts, and also lookout for some choke points to help out teammates in a pickle (i.e. enemies hiding behind hill, enemy shooting at teammate directly)

@@matejk1889 When the plane has many different caliber guns different projectiles have different ballistic arc. Vertical targettting distance makes sure that they all meet at the specific distance. That is balanced in horizontal fligt.
