38 usd that is 3 days of wage in Colombo considering the average wage in Colombo is 250 usd/m which is 16 times lower than SoCal. that would be like buying two crabs 600 usd in Cali. I can get 2 crabs (. 4 pounds /1.8kg) for 12 usd in the SoCal fisherman’s market .

The second place overcooked the crab. That's why there were so many fails.

No they were not over cooked just very full. When they reach the point when they are about to change shells the meat completely fills the cavities in the shell and sticks. The fuller the crab, the more flavour. When I catch them, these are the ones I keep, the less full ones go back into the water. I think there were fails because he is not used to eating them.

@@TheBoguspokus Even if that was the case, the full ones shouldn't stick to the shell when cooked properly and fresh. Chances are, those crabs were already precooked, processed and or frozen before they cooked them. I'm sure he knows how to eat crab.
