Okay here is my theory - you should try to extract as much as possible first without water, as I am thinking what the water does is wet dry gunk and dilute wet gunk. So if you dilute what is already liquid, you would make more work for yourself because you are increasing the volume of gunk an spreading it further. Maybe you can do an experiment to see if I am right 🤷‍♀️
