Useful photography gadget is hard to come by and most of them are just useless. I am pleasantly surprised by Nitecore's new BB2 Electric Blower. Not going to lie, I am impressed, watch and find out why. #photography #microfourthirds #photographer

Apparently the black brush is for cleaning the camera and lens bodies and the white brush is for cleaning the optical glass itself. This info is from a pergear blog post on the previous model of the blower.

Thank you for this. Just what I have been looking for. I find the rubber ball blowers ineffective but this thing just works!

I think it's better to use a handheld vacuum cleaner. With blowers you could push dust inside the camera or lens.
@Red35Photography

Vacuum only works for certain applications, I use blower to blow out excess water in gaps and around buttons, much more effective than wiping. But mind you, you are right about pushing dust in, so this only applies on weather sealed bodies. And, you won't carry your handheld vacuum when you are shooting outside. This little thing is always in my bag.

No difference then if one uses a Giottos hand blower......

I actually use a "Meguiar's X1130EU Triple Duty Detailing Brush: 3 in 1 Brush" which can get into crevices better than a toothbrush for cleaning the camera and lens body, but not the lens glass. Seems intended for car instrument panels, around the switches. Not for the glassware. Cover the top hole in the rubber blower when squeezing it in. To be honest 2.7kPa is only 0.4psi, compared to over 40psi from the airbrush compressor or invertible air-duster can.

Don't use air duster around mount/sensor, it can leave marks on the surface and will require specialist to clean, I learnt it the hard way. You don't need too strong air pressure either as it can potentially damage the seals. This blower is designed to use on cameras and even I said it's mega strong, it's only relevant to cameras. haha I love cleaning cars, so I have the same detailing brush.

@red35 the white brush is softer but it is for lens cleaning only.... Nitecore doesn't has brushes for sensors yet!!!! :(

Might have to get one for cleaning my telescopes. Those big optics collect a lot of dust.

According to Amazon website, the brushes cannot be used to clean the sensor,(CMOS)

@@WT.Mean1539 Nope, the new X3. I was thinking the 1inch but it's not waterproof and heavier. It's got better low light quality but I mainly use it for action and vlog so slight different priority. I will see what I can do with the X3 and may get the inch too if needed.

Great for cleaning lenses and camera parts. Just don't use it near the shutter blades of your Leica M!

Looks neat. I agree that rocket blowers can be hard work, and just not very efficient for the effort involved. That blower would also be handy for those of us who still dabble in film and home scanning because, again, blowers are hard work and inefficient.

I love using this to blow the excess water on my wet camera and lenses, so much better than wiping them. You can also clean those gaps in between, just awesome!

I wouldn't recommend for cleaning optical elements however, they sometimes leave chemical residual and it's hard to clean and will need solution to remove those marks. They are ok on bodies.
