Attempting to Catch the KING OF THE SPILLWAY...!!!

2022 EP54: as water temperature drops around my area, we are finally getting into that "late Fall" fishing pattern around Philadelphia (thin ice around small lakes, ponds, etc.). Thus, in this EP, I hit a local spillway and attempt to catch the biggest Crappie in it; a.k.a., THE KING OF THE SPILLWAY...!!!!

Did you know that...?
😰...Ice is only safe for ice fishing once it is in the range of 4" thick. Therefore, always be careful before hopping on hard water. If you decide to ice fish this upcoming Winter season, always make sure to have the following with you:
(1) a spud bar to measure the ice thickness every couple feet.
(2) ice picks around your neck, in case you fall in the water.
(3) a life jacket or similar PFDs (in case the ice is thin).
(4) a floating suit, in case you use wader-style clothes.
(5) traction cleats for your shoes/boots, so that you don't slip on the ice.
Safety first, folks!!!
😰...Not all spillways are public and/or around public land. Before fishing any spillways around your area, always make sure to check your state's regulations. If you see fences around it, and/or "private property;" "no trespassing" signs, stay out of it. Be a model Citizen and respect the rights of landowners out there.
😰...Some spillways and dams have fish ladders close to them. Similar to the item above -- for those type of fishing spots, always make sure to check your state's regulations on "fish ladders" before wetting your line. A lot of states have regulations that forbid anglers from fishing a "X distance" from fish ladders.

Great vid Leo. Another tip for people looking for fish this time of year is look for spring feed creeks, sprigs are cold in the summer but much warmer than the air temp in the winter as ground water comes out at the same temp all year. This is the best time for tout fishing in my opinion. Good luck everyone

I am unsubscribing from your channel. It is not what it used to be. Your uploads are not consistent anymore. The old videos with the exploring and multispecies were the best.
