I am upriver from you in Berks. I grew up next to the Skook and it amazes me the progress the river has made even since I was a kid. Its a good sign that water conservation is working when I can walk out back and catch Bluegills, Rockbass, Smallies, Fallfish and Brown Trout all in the same night. Unfortunately my catfishing spot is being unplugged since they are removing the dam in my area in a year or so

Nighttime is the prime time for the big flatheads indeed. Can you use trot lines in PA? I have lost several big flatheads in Iowa on crankbaits, they love to run for log jams and then it's all over. Good luck and look forward to seeing some big ones.

Cool you kept the perch for bait. I fish at pennypack on the delaware behind the prison, and do good with perch for cut bait. Mostly 3-7lb channels. I tried a small live perch the other day and had a hell of a fish, but got off in a matter of 5 seconds or so. I got me wondering if it was a flathead. I dont really know channels to hit live bait
