make sure your yellow ribbon cable is connected to the contact pad, that worked for me. also, make sure the 1 screw on the inside is really tight. Hope it helps

Hey Craig nice video! I bought the same kit because of the 2 back buttons and the trigger stops. I have a problem with the trigger stops sometimes they just jump out do you have the same problem or did I just do something wrong?

When you say they jump out are you resting your fingers on the slider on the back? They shouldn't jump out unless you're doing that! Personally I just use the v1 back button kit with digital triggers, the digital trigger kit is called Clicky, I had a video on that a while ago... I'd only recommend the digital triggers if you play games like Call Of Duty

I’ve been wanting to get this kit for a while now and now I have the money to get it, one question tho, have you ever tried the clicky triggers with the trigger stops in this kit? Do they interfere with eachother or is it ok to get them Both and assemble them together?

Great video, I followed everything and was working perfect for about 2 weeks, but now my back buttons keep disconnecting like every 5 minutes and I have to squeeze the case together abit , or just give it a little thump. Why is this? And the case is on properly to btw.

It sounds like something is loose inside your control pad? Maybe open it and double check all the wires are secure and nothing is caught

You know what I used to love thr DS4, got the Dualsense and thought wow this is far to heavy, but having used it for 2 years it's a much better controller, when I use a DS4 now it feels cheap and super light. Maybe give the Dualsense a little more time and you'll like it more 🙂

@@CraigsChannel I think for me the stick tension on the ds4 was better (unless they’ve recently updated them) and also my hands aren’t too big which could be the issue but the build quality is definitely better on dual sense

My hands are super small, all my ex girlfriends joke about me having girly hands 😄 I'm not sure if they've changed the tension! I know they've updated the Dualsense 3 times now with version BDM-030. There's a company called Kontrol Freaks who sell these stick tension things, I bought them but still never tried them

Yeah dude L3 and R3 work fine. I didn't bother soldering, I use L3 to sprint, R3 to melee on CoD

Craig, love this video and it was super easy to follow for installation. Not sure if this comment will get to you but I have a question and was wondering if you could help. I tried to ask ExtremeRate customer support but their responses weren't that clear. My controller keeps going into remap mode on it's own. I cut off the L3, R3 & Touchpad wires in installation. Is there an easy fix for this that you know of? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It's been a long time since I messed with a PS4 Dualshock controller but what I remember, to put it into remap mode you held you finger up against the back to put it into remap mode, I cut the foil off mine to stop this and just used the manual mode

I would, for the sake of 10mins of your time it'll be worth it. Like I say just make sure it's totally cut off, it's a horrible idea in the first place, manual was so much better

Hey Craig. I did everything you did in your video, except I cut off the touch pad wire as i dont want to accidentally hit it during a game. I cannot manually remap though. I hold the 4 button combo down and no LED light comes on, so I can't remap at all. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Are all your buttons working normally? How long you holding R1 L1 Down and X? It takes anywhere up to 10 seconds. I know it might be a pain, but if there anyway you could open the controller, remove the ribbon from the new little board and put it back in, it might not be 100% in

If you're happy with the kit you have, stick with it! If you want the trigger stops then go for the newer kit! The only thing I can say is if you play Warzone make sure to turn the triggers off when in/on a vehicle, I was doing about 2mph on an ATV the other night and took me a good 10 seconds to work out why I was going so slow lol

Yeah just means you won't be able to remap them to the back buttons. I only use L3 and R3 on the front buttons. Even though you cut the wires the original L3 and R3 will work in case that's what you were wanting to know 👍

Hey Craig, First time on your channel good stuff !! I wanted a good review on this new product and you delivered. I have a few question's : 1. Can the trigger stop's be adjusted further what is comes with pre-adjusted ? 2. Can you map 2 button's to one paddle ? ( Example x&o mapped to one paddle and L3&R3 to the other paddle ) 3. Can this be use along with the Strike pack ? so I could get 4 paddles and the paddle on the strike pack can do that Question 2 asked. Hi Sunny, that's for stopping by 😁 The triggers are either on or off, you can't adjust them like you can on say the Xbox elite, but tbh I'm happy with one setting. As for two buttons to one button, I'm not sure how I would even be able to test that, the game I play dont need to you press two at once, Modern Warfare is pretty much me go to game. The striker pack I'd of thought might get in the way. You could check my previous video that has the 4 button kit, but no trigger stops. You can how ever make your own with some small screws

I followed every step but for some reason when I try to remap the back light doesn’t run on and I can’t remap it manually either. My guess is one of the ribbons aren’t connected correctly. Any help?

Is your pad a BDM-010 or 020? Have you double checked you cut the right ribbon, also as you mentioned try the ribbons to make sure they're fully connected

Yes sir, they'll all work fine. I just have no need to map either of them when mapping, I only use X and O for my main buttons on the back 👍

R3 and L3 will still work, but you won't be able to have them as back buttons that's all. I only use X and O, so didn't need them

Hi I bought the kit for PS4, I assembled it following the official video and yours, but the additional keys do not always work and the led never turns on, then I contacted the seller who sent me another one but I have it same problem. Is your controller a v2 and is it genuine? Not saying you bought a fake but I have known a few people to buy them by mistake. Also have you got a spare pad, to try the kit on that as well?

Have you double checked all the wires are ok and the ribbon cable lined up? Also are you able to use all the buttons as normal?

@@CraigsChannel I play rocket league. I just need two back buttons and not the triggers. 4 back buttons is overkill. This is the best feeling back attachment on dualshock 4 and dualshock 4 is the most accurate controller on rocket league so that’s why I use it, having used about every controller there is.

Yeah you can get it for both, I think the Xbox one was £34, a friend of mine bought one. But it only has two buttons rather than 4, tbh I only use 2 buttons

Did you cut the touch pad remap button with wire or leave it? I cut mine but like I say sometimes still works. I'd be lost without them buttons

@@CraigsChannel I cut mine, I only want two extra buttons it's enough for me. I messed up with the sensor installation, it doesn't turn on when I hold my finger over the sensor. I'm ok with it though because I can do it manually and it won't go in remap mode accidentally.

You don't need them on, extremerate even say to snap them off. If you leave them on they might get on the way, to snap them though I just bend them and they come straight off

Yeah I like them, just make sure if you play Warzone or a racing game to turn them off, as you wont get full speed. I did a video on digital triggers as well after this video if you want to check! They give you more of a mouse kind of feel, like a click

The digital triggers seem faster and more comfortable. The adjustable triggers mean you can still play any game you like, but if you have the DT you can't play racing games or games that need you to throttle the L2 R2 as it's always fully pressed, if that makes sense? What kind of games will you be playing?

Theres a few different textures you can get for grip, I did prefer the smooth but now prefer the textured which is more gripy so to speak

I'd double check everything, sounds like you've fitted something wrong or not pushed in, easy thing to fix. Did remap mode work?

@Craig's Channel yeah, remap mode worked. I was able to use my remapped X and O on the home page of Playstation. Once I booted both mw2 and rdr2 the controller won't respond. Except for the ps home button. Then it will work again. I think it's being blocked sort of like the cronus zen does.

No no it can't be blocked, Sony sell offical back buttons to attach to the PS4 controllers, you're doing nothing wrong. Cronus on the other hand isn't good. Have you tried the normal stuff like restarting your PS4? Or using a wired connection. I'm guessing you exited remap mode after settings your buttons? So the solid light on the back turns off?

There's no way the game can stop it working, like I say you're doing nothing wrong it's just extra buttons. You haven't another spare pad you could fit the kit to, do you? Just to kind of pin point the issue
