The shock piston shaft has a hex cut at the top for holding while tightening the nut. DO NOT USE VICE GRIPS OR PLIERS ON THE SHAFT. Damage to the shaft will cut the dirt seal.

Added this kit, vibration started in ride so needed to add Rugged Ridge NP231 Transfer case SYE kit and new rough country CV rear driveshaft to fit the 4 inch left THEN went ahead replaced front Driveshaft heavy duty $eris 1310 CV with grease able u-joints and Rough Country transfer case drop kit for 4 to 6 inch lift! Overall a very nice look on 35 tires. Rough Country is for a person who won't be wheeling seriously and just wants a great aggressive look. My 2001 Sahara never looked so good!

This exact same lift I ordered didn't come with any instructions in any of the boxes the lift came in. Glad this video was done.

This video makes me think I can do this myself, but nightmares of rusty/broken bolts makes me think otherwise 😂

What was the Rear Upper Control Arms measurements? I didn't see it in the video?
@maintenance963 жыл бұрын
After a year of a complete frame replacement rebuild I'm at the point of driving it. You definitely want to do a SYE to have better drive line angle. Which a year ago I was asking for the rear upper control arm measurements. By using adjustable control arms, you need a angle finder and adjust your upper arms so the drive shaft is almost a straight shot into the rear diff. Check out this video and it will explain/show you exactly what is needed done to have the correct pinion angle. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJi3lmN8nLiisK8

Just finished installing this and the instructions were garbage. I installed there 2.5 inch lift with the x series control arms. The pre alignment were way off had series vibrations on the way to the alignment shop. After watching this video they specified the same pre alignment measurement for my 2.5 lift as the 4 inch lift you installed which doesn’t make sense. Also one of the boxes where damaged and was missing the track bar bracket just received it Friday after waiting 10 days for it. Lost two weekends of wheeling.

Hi Extreme terrain.....will this work on the TJ unlimited aka jeep LJ?
@extremeterrain4 жыл бұрын
This kit is specifically put together for TJ models only, I would highly recommend looking into a kit specific for your LJ to ensure fitment and the best performance possible. -Zach

What tire and wheels you can recommend for this lifting?
@extremeterrain4 жыл бұрын
At 4" of lift, you're looking at comfortably fitting a set of 33" tires! Or you could look into aftermarket high-clearance fender flares to fit a set of 35" tires, but you won't have as much room for articulation then if you plan on going off-road. As for wheels, most aftermarket 16x8s or 15x8s will come with appropriate backspacing out-of-the-gate so you won't have to worry about rubbing. -Zach

Please learn to use an adjustable wrench correctly before you get hurt. Never put the pressure on the adjustable jaw. I’m half way through your video and you’ve use the wrench the wrong way consistently. When you have the pressure on the adjustable jaw, the weakest part of the wrench, and it pops, you will be looking at busted knuckles at a minimum. We were drilled about this over and over in school!
