Q: Oi. Where did this video go for a while?
A: A spurious copyright claim against some of the music used. All seems to be well again. (I mean that specifically. In general terms all is not well. My god, just look where we are etc.)
I should add that the middle section with the cosmic predictions is entirely the speculations of cosmologists and astronomers of course. Only Cthulhu Himself truly knows how the world will end.

This video successfully gave me an existential crisis, a feeling of worthlessness, anxiety and depression. Then, about a minute later, I came out of my crisis, found acceptance, cured my new found anxiety, made me feel better than before, and gave me hope for the future. I now get a strangely calm feeling when I think about how small we are.

Because you fear the idea of death, the lack of life, the limited time etc. Keep toying with words, it does nothing to change the reality. It's the same shit as "everything will be ok in the end, if it's not ok it's not the end" even though sources are definitely different lmao. Fear of death (no not the dangers, the end destination) is not functional to our ANIMAL existence, but once you say that there is literally nothing you can say next, here's a Wittgenstein for you. There is no "how to human", the only logical move is to create a better enviroment for ourselves, but we chose supremacy as a life goal. And that's because death is functional to our HUMAN existence, since you can ride the dread and push yourself further. That's why the world is shit. Would it be better if we lived as happy hippies? Who knows, we'd have way less progress etc. It's a giant avalanche of non answerable questions and empty talk that does nothing other than free the talkers' minds for a while. If you think you can block the primordial fear through a simple semantic play you're either really naive or desperate.

What helped me cope with my own mortality was realizing that death is the reason why we value life to begin with. If everything lasts forever, eventually life would be like an endless curse that never ends. I feel like many people don't fully understand how long *forever* actually is. It would eventually drive you crazy. The fact that life is temporary is the reason why we have goals and aspirations, and appreciate the things we have.

@@SkullKing11841 As someone who doesn't practice religion but appreciates the magical nature of human existence, I hope you can find your hope. I find solace the fact that nothing matters, but everything matters, too. You can zoom out from a photo of a beach and just see a brownish strip of land. But that strip of land wouldn't exist without millions of tiny grains of sand. Taking away one grain doesn't make a difference, but take away all of them and there is no longer a beach. But that grain has a whole world and affects all the grains around it. Basically - just be a good person, even if it doesn't matter when you pull back far enough, it matters to those around you.
