This is EXACTLY how the mach 15 US military rail gun works. Same principle. EDIT: love it BTW

The sparking damage on the contact point will likely not permit many hours of operation. I sure you know that.

You are right. The set-up was made to show how it works. For an industrial application the materials would need to be different.

Besides demonstration this can't be use for any practical application or can it?
@scienceexxience4 жыл бұрын
Well, it uses a lot of current, so an application will be difficult to realize. We made it for demonstration purposes.

Trains or cargo shipments could benefit from such high torque motors

This would be more interesting and engaging if you narrated what you were doing in real time, instead of just printing text on the screen. All good wishes.

hey, are you sure this isn't a corona motor?
@scienceexxience4 жыл бұрын
The Corona motor works with the electrostatic field, hence hig voltage is needed. The device in our video works with high current and low voltage, and is therefor very different.

Thanks, Science. Show more that it moves forward and backward. That's important for the ball bearing motor problem.

Just reverse the electric input.

How many Ampere?
@scienceexxience3 жыл бұрын
It would be very difficult to measure the current, because the connection with the rails varies a lot.

Black very small text on a black background. Why not simply talk to us and explain what your are doing. You went to a lot of work to make this video but it is hard to figure out just what the point was. Thanks anyhow.
