Eye-Fi, Canon 7D and Compact Flash to SD Adapter

Daniel, I've used this for my son's soccer and I can certainly bog the card down with writes when doing a burst. I haven't tested against another card but I do think it is a bit slower when writing these 10 image (or so) bursts.

Great vid. i wanna do the same with my 7D. I notice the transfers were very quick. what size are u shooting the photos in with the 7D???

I take raw and small jpeg. The jpegs are a couple megs in size, typically.

Hi I recently bought the same adapter as yours but my canon 7d seems to not be able to read it. I have as well a SD adapter inserted with a 128gb samsung micro sd. Wonder does that have to do with anything!

Try it with a normal SD card. I can't recall if I ever tried the micro in an adapter.

Great video! I just purchased the 7D Mark 1 as my first camera. Is your SD Adapter Type II? Not sure what Type of slot the 7D uses. Looking to purchase an adapter but not sure which one to get. Type I or Type II. Also, would a 32GB class 10 SDHC work on the 7D? Thanks!

I believe the adapter I bought was type II. I have the Eye Fi Mobi Pro 32gb...works fine.

been thinking about this solution for two years. searching and researching for a way to get the photos to my ipad pro and iphone 6s+ I found this. Im excited. I shoot 1 shot at a time so bursts will not be a major consideration. Im not worrying about wresting video on eyefy yet, however, I am considering the chain of adapters to import from CF to lightning and the main issue reported is lack of power on usb / reader device. still looking. this howerver, rules Thank you for posting this

Hi, I'm using the same camera and card, but the camera says "cannot playback image" after I turn off then turn on the camera. Do you have the same problem?

I don't use the mobi card now but the Pro X2. It lets me select which images to transfer instead of transferring them all.

Hi Casey. Readlly glad I found this, but I was wondering one thing that you did not talk about. What is the performance like? Do you still get the burst of 5 pictures a second? What I mean is does the adapter seem to make transfer slower to the SD-card.

My understanding is the wifi is built into the card. Simply search for it from your phone.

I think it's GMYLE from amazon. I know of a couple different models that both work in the 7D.

Do you have any downgrade with buffering speed? i just bought a used 7D mk I and the only card i have is a Sandisk Extreme U3 SD card. Im curious if the adapter will make it slower

I didn't test but I do believe it hurts buffering speed a little. However, I used it for soccer with my 7D and it wasn't all that bad.

thanks for the reply, i'll buy one CF card and one adapter as my secondary storage. Since i shoot motorsports a lot i dont wanna take any risk that slows down my speed.
