Using one of these in a Sony A850 and they work a treat. You can even use them with a micro SD card with the adapter that they come with.

Under 'communication' change from 'PC connect'; to 'Print/PTP' Turn OFF. Attach usb and turn on. Will now work as a device or drive.

I use one on my 5d mkii and i just ordered one for my 7d, just put light downward pressure in it when ejecting, seems to get slightly hung up where the SD lives..but write speeds seem fine.

Shame you didn’t test out whether it could match the buffer after you mentioned it. Have you tried it since? What’s the verdict?

I was hoping you would go over the write speeds and everything of the cards (specifically if the adapter bottlenecks anything) I was looking shooting RAW video on 5d ii but know that data storage will be large. Was ultimately hoping this adapter and a large SD card would work

Give me a little while. This card works on the II but not the IV because it has a hump. For that reason I’ve not been using it as much as I would have liked. I will return to this.

@@FauxtakuLounge i really appreciate it. On paper some of these SD cards out are only slightly slower than the CF cards. I was going to test it myself eventually when I get a mark2 but I cant say when that will be

@@harpwner I have a problem now. My favourite Nikkor, the 105/2,5 is stuck to the 5D2. Because of this, I am working on dissecting the two and then I will work on what you suggested.

All good. I actually bought a 5d2 and accessories already. All the CF->SD adapters bottleneck write speed to ~25MB/s. I hope someone finds an adapter to prove me wrong. Ive been using the kingston 128gb CF cards. They have speeds up to 130MB/s write and are only $35 on their website. Ive also found that the 5d2 cant format (thus use) any card larger than 128gb

@@harpwner same here, i install magic lantern and it does not shoot with sd to cf adapter. What a misfortune. And here in Turkey cf cards are very expensive 😓

You've missed a massive trick, you can get the the adaptor to take Toshiba wifi card and send the pics to your phone wirelessly.

I'm glad that you also mention that the new Macbooks and iMacs are somewhat ennerving when it comes to transferring photos to them. I miss the internal SD card slot of my old Macbook very much. As for transferring back from mirrorless to DSLR, I'm curious how you'll feel after spending some time with the (nice) 5D2 ...

This camera’s AF is clearly simple next to any modern mirrorless camera. That said, in the centre it focuses more smoothly and generally faster than the X-T3 does. The 5D4 is instant and overall better than the X-T3. I do miss being able to focus around the frame easier and of course video autofocus. But apart from that I much prefer the Canon.

There's something about SLR photography that is missing when using mirrorless cameras, on the other hand the mirrorless ones are in the end maybe more versatile. (Especially for videos.) So I am gonna be curious what you'll decide for in the end. R6 or 5D4 ...

I can re-check this, but I used a 128GB card with it, but that card is now dead. I have no idea if it was limited in any way as I never filled up 32GB of information on the 5DMKII.
