Thank you again. Your teachings are like a puzzle, it all just fits. The word of God is literally coming alive to me and I am loving every minute of it. I am unemployed and can't help the ministry right now. But I am looking forward to when I can. Thank you again.

it is only hard to ask for help if you have a conscience or not a professional con or an addict, I really think we need to also use wisdom, we may be enabling someone in an addiction

This is the first time I've heard Lex lost his job. Does anyone know if he still needs financial help?

Hi Adam, yes, I lost my job about 6 months ago, and I am now working in full-time ministry. Here is a link to the video I made when that happened. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXPHp6Rjr5dml9U

Hello Lex. I love your heart. However, I disagree with you regarding the person on the street asking for money. I have worked in the recovery field. One of my sisters is a schizophrenic. When she was a young girl she used to go to "work". Her work was panhandling outside of a local shopping center. She bragged about making $80 per day. $80 dollars today is not bad -- this was about 15 or 20 years ago. Plus, people would bring her blankets and clothes. Later my sister and her boyfriend, who was hiding off in a corner somewhere (girls get more sympathy) would take the money, go find their connect and shoot up. They intentionally choose to live is some encampment hidden off the side of the freeway. We do need to use discernment. Was it good for my sister to be successful at this? NO. She continued to live this way for many years, until her the lifestyle stole her "cuteness." We certainly could not reach her and help her to pursue another lifestyle because she was making "good money". It is good to buy the person a hot meal. It is good to know about the local social service agency's so you can help some get more help there. It is good to help a person who is experiencing a temporary set-back. One homeless person I know shared with me how he choose to be homeless. We do need to discern if the person really wants a hand-up or if they have made a lifestyle choice. It may seem strange -- but some of the people with signs have made an actual lifestyle choice. Often there is drug-abuse and mental health issues that affect the way people think and the choices they make. Certainly discernment needs to be salted with mercy. I am not saying do not help. However, every where I go, there is someone asking for money. I cannot meet every need, nor help every person. But with the help of the Holy Spirit, and discernment I can help someone, perhaps at just the right moment. Now, if someone sees this as a mission field -- God is doing great things through the kindness of those with a special calling to this work. I do know personally of one homeless person who is now clean, married and working in the social service field reaching out to others who are where he was at. There is a definite ministry to be done. But just because someone is exercising discernment does not mean they are passing judgement. I pray this does no offend you. I do not write this with a spirit of contention. I have seen this side of life up close, with my sister & via about 8 years with two different non profits who served the homeless, the ex-offenders, and the drug user. I have seen success stories that lift my spirits. Sometimes I help. Sometimes I do not. The need in our society is too great. People should give when they feel lead too -- but they do not need to feel guilty when they don't. We are not always the solution. Sometimes we can be the band-aid. I advocate each person using mercy and discernment together. Blessings.

I agree that we need to use discernment and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. However, we need to be more open-handed with people.

Sharon Lavoie : I absolutely agree. I've witnessed the money I gave to a man on a highway exit when I was traveling, used to buy beer and cigarettes as I stopped to buy gas, he went there to buy these things. I also saw a John Stossel report on people who live in nice houses who do this for a living, and live better than I do. I agree we need to have discernment as we could be part of the problem. I appreciate Lex' s heart in explaining his view though...

@@MsJanetLouise My husband has a wonderful way to check on their heart. He asks them what they want the money for and offers to buy it for them. If they say yes to that, their heart is in the right place as for the purpose of this situation. If they prefer the money, he knows they are lying. He already bought a sandwich, diapers, you name it for people. I love him for that more and more.
