Thank you Eric, that made my day. Even Charly listens when Johanna is singing. 😄 I'm also petting my cat right now while watching your vid. The melody is carol of the bells. I've never realized that similarity before, thank you for pointing it out. That's why I love watching your reactions, you pick up on things nobody else does.

Johanna sounds like she must be an elf and has magical powers

I bought the album last year and yes, it's very calming. I spotted Carol of the Bells (consciously), but have always forgotten it before my next listen!

I had to stop the video when the "Christmas music" came in because I couldn't think of the name of the song. So glad someone in the comments had already put a name to it so I could move forward...lol. This really is a beautiful moving piece - "ethereal" was a good choice of words.

Eye of Melian is a Tolkien-themed side project by the keyboardist and main composer of the Dutch symphonic metal band Delain, Martijn Westerholt. It's like Auri for Tuomas Holopainen (who is a friend of Martijn). Other members of EoM are singer Johanna Kurkela (Thomas's wife), lyricist Robin LaJoy (Martijn's wife) and Finish orchestral arranger and producer Mikko P. Mustonen. P.S. I highly recommend you to listen to Delain, it's an amazing band.
