Eye Palette Declutter | October 2019 {19% Gone}

I did a little research into these ‘expiry dates’ on eyeshadow pallettes and what I understand is this: the 6/12/24M mark on cosmetics is not an expiry date but is rather an indicator of how long the company tested the product to ensure it will perform the way the company intended it to. For example, The ABH palette has a 6M on the back of it. That doesn’t mean that the palette will ‘go bad’ 6 months after you open it but rather, ABH can promise that the palette will perform as they intended it to for at least 6 months after opening it. Some companies will test make up products for longer-12/24/36M etc. So, less an expiration date as it is a ‘guarantee of performance’ date. Many powder-based products can last you for years. Don’t worry about tossing them unless they have gone off-colour or smell funky. They may not have the same staying power or perform as well after many years of course, but they don’t ‘go bad’ after 6-12 months. Of course, cream and liquid products are a different story.

Well most of the ones I got rid of were around 3 years old and if they aren’t performing to standard there isn’t much point in keeping outside of sentimental value. I’d rather donate it to make space for other new palettes or just to cut down on what I have

Douce..... It’s actually French from South Africa and it’s pronounced like goose but with a d instead “doose” I was never sure either lol but I researched it cause I was wondering a while back.
