9 years later.... this just worked perfectly for my plastic framed reading glasses. my eyes are different prescriptions so i have to use a different magnifications for each eye. thank you !

Thanks for this tip. I struggled for quite a while trying to fix mine. However, my lens and frame are both quite thick so it was still too difficult, so I put the lens into the refrigerator and put the frame into a bowl of hot water for about five minutes then I was able to snap it back in place. I had some transition lenses that were in some so called "Flexon/virtually unbreakable" frames, and while cleaning it one day, the bridge came apart aeperate the 2 sides. So cool! Thanx man! Gotta have that screwdriver outta those eyeglass repair kits. 2 different screws that take the different screwdriver heads, one flathead and one phillips, the kit should come with both. I backed the screw out too much and the frame came apart, had to put it back together, fortunately all worked out. :)
