This is gold. As someone born in 82, before the widespread internet, I've watched people I know and love, just get lost in their phones. Addiction to the point of, 5 seconds of slack time dictates them to scroll, watch tiktok, ect. Like can't even have a meal without it. Can't have actual conversations. I think a lot of people can't help themselves, and they are just gone. Your series highlights this I belive.

@HDDxp (1982 myself) Even though I do enjoy my screen time on videos and the like, and can go hours looking at it, I am not addicted. I would be fine in the middle of nowhere conversing with friends and family without electronics. My deceased wife (same age) was a FB addict even knowing all the drama and problems her "friends" put her through online. It took a long time for her to give it up.

I would have thought an explanation was unnecessary but it's clear that you had alot of ideas and worldbuilding that wasn't able to be put into the video because of its brevity and it's a treat to get to understand this setting a little more especially because it helps distinguish it from other dystopian societies

I really love the video. It feels like a fever dream. Almost like something Roger is dreaming rather than living. Not to say that he didn't live through that but since then it has been reduced to flashes in his mind which he can only revisit in this disjointed nightmare.

it's a potential near future, and some people are already living it. there are people who will spend 80% of their lives sitting in front of a monitor or holding a screen to their face. in some ways, tv and cinema served a similar function in the past, however it was possible to convey meaning and art through tv and cinema. what does tiktok or instagram convey? nihilism and hedonism.

So Im transfering some files for my channel, (raw stuff, gigs and gigs, before I upload). It took me over 48 hours to edit, non stop, no sleep. I am. EXHAUSTED. I want to get this done, and upload. But, Im drifting half asleep. Do you know how weird it is listening to this, then waking up and asking, what the heck did I just hear? Dreams blending with the video, totally absurdly as if your videos werent at times almost dadaist as well as dystopian. Roger already resonated with me, from my own failures in life. So...note to self. I dont want to be a dreamer in the Capital LOL Excellent work you do. I wrote a few novels, but they are Rogerian. As in mediocre at best, though concepts...many, including as authors being held on trial for the things we put our characters through. And well...hate to say it, but you have crimes to answer for lol. As do I.

The Gulliver Gopher was more like, to me, a gullible gopher. Guess I was reading different things into it, but that just means there are layers to what you did. When talking about your dad... More is caught than taught. The Capital place looked like an acid trip, oh it reminds me of the old pinnochio movie of pleasure island!!! Good talk through. Enjoyed it.

As much as I'm very critical of the use of ai, I feel like the use of ai is pretty fitting for the themes and messages of this story. The way how technology has manipulated us in a false sense of security and comfort, as well as killing creativity in the process.
