Riding bikes to our friends house playing outside till it got nearly dark or when the street lights started to come on, then we had to head home bc momma would have supper ready. What is most interesting about this is that the kid trying to save his father is not much younger than the pilots we send off to war. In fact he might be better trained, with a more powerful intent to complete his mission. This boy not only loved his father but he honored him. If I had the capabilities I would do the same thing.

Yes its got a ludicrous plot, continuity errors aplenty, and completely inaccurate avionics in the cockpit, other weapons inaccuracies, but it's a feel good film with a great film score and soundtrack

Watching this movie as a kid made me wanna join the airforce and work on jets. It Just so happened i got to be a F-16 crew chief in the United States airforce and served 8 years active duty. This is the greatest aviation movie of all time and by far best soundtrack.

I was and it was AMAZING. Kind of a blessing and a curse. I know how awesome things could be in this country if you just applied yourself (like Doug Masters) and aspired to be a WINNER. That was the basic theme of all 80's movies. Do your best and WIN because winning feels good. That being said I also realize how far we have slid since then and how weak we have become as a society. It's hard to be great when everyone receives a participation trophy just for showing up. Pathetic.....

The music in Iron Eagle is way better then Top Gun. But overtime the flying and feel of the jets us more realistic then Top Gun. They never so something so improvable with their flying, like going inverted above a MiG. But from a outsiders view lets say from the middle East this movie is very offensive. Two rouge pilots go into a unknown sand filled country and rescue a down pilot. It's a 80's teenage boy fantasy movie that's why I love it. I also did spend time in the USAF fixing aircraft so I do know a thing or two about aircraft.

Iron Eagle, is the first top gun movie first, top gun is the second one. Iron Eagle was done in the 80s,top gun was done in the 90s .
