I was not raised to listen to other people. I listen to me. I wear what I want and I have always been a skin care woman. My makeup looks so much better on my better looking skin. I am a woman of color so I have certain makeup choices. I love color and not so much neutrals. I am 67 and have been through the color look, the neutrals (brown look) etc. No make up is really new. Just like clothing everything old is new again! I wear makeup that make me feel good and following trends is not my journey! I love your channel and I love what you do. You blend out color and make things look beautiful. Love you!💜💙💛😄

I love eyeshadow, and I won’t listen to trends that say eyeshadow is out. “Who” is saying that? “They” are saying that? No. Nope. I don’t know who “they” are, and I’m not about to start listening to them 😂. Although, I think different scenes and different scenarios require different shadow looks, some light, some bold, and some none at all. Honestly, I have been unfollowing people who are steering away from eyeshadow tutorials. Mainly because that’s the main reason I came to KZbin, and the main videos I love to watch. There are some KZbinrs who used to do makeup, but are now starting to do more commentary style videos, and I don’t find myself interested in their videos anymore. Like Kelly Gooch, and Chloe Morello, they have changed their videos, and talk a lot about the industry, or other things, and I actually skip past those videos. KZbin videos help me decide what products I want to purchase, so, I’ve been unsubscribing vlog style videos, and people veering away from makeup. That just my personal opinion 😂 🤷🏻‍♀️ Doesn’t really mean squat though hahaha 😂

I have been using Mac Longwear Paintpot in Painterly for the last couple of years. It's very neutral, and with eyeliner and mascara it's all I need. I'm in my 80s, and I like the softer but still defined and finished look on me. I love beautiful color and have a lipstick wardrobe that proves that 😊. Wear what you love and you'll have fun . Eyeshadow looks are not going anywhere. Please stop relying on what trends are currently in style. Believe me eyeshadow looks are what make your face shine. People look into your eyes when talking to you not the 8 layers of blush you're wearing. The overuse of blush is what should be out.

I don’t know about anyone else but my whole life (I’m 61), has been a series of stages, in everything. Makeup, clothing, shoes, hair, jewelry, house decor, cars, etc. I might be in a muted makeup grunge dress stage for a couple years, then flip to a hippy dress bold makeup fun stage, then to a classy dress full glam makeup stage. It’s not planned. It all has to do with my age, my skin, my job, my attitude, whatever. What I was 5 years ago is not who I am now. I go with the flow and what feels comfortable at the time. I’m glad you still plan to do eyeshadow videos. They are very helpful and enjoyable.

I do love making my eyes up. I always have, and I always will, but that's just me, but my personal passion is my skin care, making sure my skin is as flawless as possible and considering my age 61 in September I'm not doing to bad naturally, I personally don't believe in plastic surgery or anything like that as it really does scare me. Gen X! I did the three blushes technique in the 80's. Not over the eyes though. I used neon orange and yellow eyeshadow and blended it to the hairline. Oh, and blue mascara. I loved the 80's. 🎉

I am 62 and only started wearing makeup about 5-6 yrs ago again. I wore it in my teens but eyeshadow was all I wore with the black eyeliner that we had to light on fire for it to work lol. I have really been into skincare the last two years and my skin has really improved a lot. I love the look you did in this video 👍🏻❤️

Oh my gosh! I remember doing that too! (Heating up my eyeliner pencils with a lighter I mean). I’m glad pencils have gotten softer and easier to use, but I won’t be following the “no eyeshadow” trend (such as it is). All I ever used was eyeshadow, too. No blush, not even foundation (gasp!). It has always been about the eyes for me. ❤️

Eyeshadow will never be out! There are too many colors and ways to wear eyeshadow for it to be "out". Even with a soft glam look, people still use eye shadow. It doesn't have to be bright & bold eyeshadow looks every time so the idea it's out is odd (to me at least)

I never follow the trends... and I feel like the majority of consumers don't follow the "trends". It's the saying 'the squeaky wheel gets greased first'... There are 4 wheels, but 3 are ignored because they aren't squeaking. People only hear the squeaky wheel. Doesn't mean they are the majority LOL, they are just the loudest. The other 75%+ don't care to be squeaky and aren't sheep. We have our own minds, we just don't feel the need to broadcast it. 😂 So yeah, when I see "trends" I just giggle a little and live my best life. As do most people.

Happy birthday! I think you’re spot on that more of us just want to keep it simple and focus on “natural” features like skin, cheeks, etc. Even aside from the clean girl thing, it’s an interest in looking like you didn’t try too hard. I’m here for the fun but less dramatic looks, I hope you do end up filming some things like that. Personally - I love having a pop of color and I’d enjoy a tutorial on how to add a bit of flash to a casual look.

I find this approach refreshing😊 it’s totally ok to change your taste/preference in makeup. I actually went in the same direction last year, I started using my lipsticks as blush (and just a touch of whats legt on the brush on the eyes) and I LOVE IT. I feel great in it! It doesn’t look as heavy on me as a classic eyeshadow look.

I’ve been doing blush on my eyes instead of shadow for years❤❤ it’s a great way to look natural and healthy without looking like you have a ton of makeup on. I’m 57 and back in my day (the 80’s) makeup was NOT like it is today and so I never really liked the feel of eyeshadow on my eyes… so I always used blush🤷‍♀️ Now, with bronzers being a thing… on my “no makeup” makeup days I do either blush or bronzer as my shadow❤❤ You look stunning btw!!

I actually started wearing eyeshadow more often when I started watching your videos !! I personally think that eyeshadow “ finishes” my look overall . But it’s up to the individual & just because you started your KZbin channel around eye shadow looks & trends & such doesn’t mean you have to stick with that . You’ve got to be true to yourself & if you aren’t enjoying the content you’re creating then in my opinion, you should change it up ! I really just like seeing the different looks you come up with, eyeshadow or no eyeshadow .

I totally vibe with this technique, I’ve been using it every day for years as I believe the glow of blush is a great foundation for any look whether eyeshadow or not. People notice skin ! I have commented this (or similar) on some other peoples’ videos, but I wont be getting rid of my eyeshadow just cause it’s apparently not trending anymore. I love my glitter and sparkle, it cheers me up and it’s how I express myself. I love the endless options and creativity that come with eyeshadow. Yes, some days I like a more subtle look or i might not wear eyeshadow, but i still love to have the option of it and my eyeshadow collection is here to stay.

I’m Asian and have hooded monolids. So, I need my eyeshadows. I’ve developed a few styles over the years that are my go-to and just do something out-of-the-box when I perform or have a party. I look at trends as an artist looks at paintings and only to see if there’s something new out there that I could incorporate but, never to let it dictate my style. My style is my signature and it’s unique to me as I’m sure it is for most of you out there. So, do what makes you feel beautiful and comfortable and don’t let trends take away from that. I just discovered your channel and love it so far. ❤

I’m a little late to this party. I love my eyeshadow, but I am very light-handed with it. I am SÚPER pale and am a little nervous using blush. I use it, but I am light-handed with it because I don’t want to create an obvious line/cast. I’m working on blending, blending, blending. 🖌️ Thanks for another terrific video! You look very pretty! As a person who has had a LOT of sunburns in my life, I see people with this makeup look and think, "Oh, it's the new sunburned look." I avoid sunburns now, so I guess this is a healthier way to get that look. I never enjoyed my sunburned look! Back in the winter we had the Cold Girl look? I just thought, "It's the new too much cold look." I really liked the Latte Look and the pink spring look. They're all pretty and very charming. Some people over do them, and it just looks like a lot of makeup. All the new trends are fun, and they add to our enjoyment and artistry. You get something from all the trends. They add to our makeup story. They also add a lot of products to our makeup drawer! Wear the ones you like. Change it up sometimes. Have fun!😂💜

I was never someone to looooove the super glam makeup with falsies, very sharp brows and heavy contour. That being said I am also not 100% into the full no-makeup, makeup trend (or clean girl aesthetic - just don't like that saying so much). But I am rather in the middle of the spectrum with a light base that feels like skin + colorful eyeshadow (the eyeshadow placement just changes as I get older but that's it). So overall, I am particularly happy with some of your latest tutorials as they suits more my personal way of doing makeup but I still learned so so much from the 2016 aesthetic! I wouldn't be too quick on dismissing trends that aren't ''on trend anymore'' as they still keep on teaching us other way of doing makeup which I find super interesting (don't know if I make sense?) .

I agree it started with Covid. It may have stuck around only because a lot of jobs continued being remote. A lot of jobs didn’t go back to the office. So I think people have gotten lazy. Not that I’m totally judging that because if you are home and not going to work and you don’t have to dress up, do your hair and makeup then I can see not doing it. I will say though, even though I work from home, I do my makeup and hair most days. Girls, tidy the hair, makeup and outfit. Don’t get into dumpy habits. You should always try to look your best.

I am older, super fair, blonde eyelashes and eyebrows. Without makeup I look like an alien. With subtle makeup (including eyeshadow). I actually look good. I love eyeshadow and will never give it up. Don’t care about trends.

But Ange your eyes have that beautiful blue/grey colour. On a monotone chic like me where everything is mid brown , we gotta pull the darker shades to make a diff . Don’t get me wrong, your makeup is always flawless and traffic stopping. So I can’t follow that clean look as , why would I bother putting any makeup on. Just my thoughts. I have that highlighter and use it every day. It's very, very subtle. Great for mature skin and giving an over all dimensional look without giving a "higlighted" look.

I’ve seen this eyeshadow thought echoed on numerous channels today. Of course it’s not trending as much…. Aside it being hot and humid summer where many of us sweat our eye makeup off and have lovely natural glows from being outside, Palettes have been flooding the market for several years. The collections come out rapid fire and we’re tapped out. We have bought all we need to keep us looking great for years. Nothing new or innovative has been introduced to lure us into spending more money. Every rank and reveal I watch just repeats the same colors and finishes we have multiples of in our collections. I love eye colors as my lids are a teeny tiny art canvas for my day. I feel the same about my nails. Nail polish has also been flooded making finding something new and innovative a difficult task. I now make my own and save tons of $ and have more options than I can fathom.

I kind of miss the get ready with me style videos. I do enjoy chatty videos in general. I'm not sure why they have died off. Interestingly, I feel like some of these trends really do have a pulse on the population. Blush for me, not so much. As we have dived into and been lingering in the blush trend, my interest in wearing blush has completely died. I really don't do much face makeup at all. I'm most likely to put on some highlighter and if I'm going all out, a bronzer. Mind you, I am no longer working at home, and where I work is hot so I'd sweat it all off anyway. However, if I were doing a full beat I would just be bronzing, doing a light contour and adding some highlighter. I am still in love with eyeshadow, though. The eyes have always been what I loved to play up. That said, I am enjoying a softer eye look myself these days. I am not going very smokey. Often I build up the crease and put some shimmer or sparkle on my lid. I think a lot of eyeshadow lovers are feeling this vibe. It reminds me a lot of Samantha March's eyeshdow style. I think doing videos showing how to build lighter eye looks would go over well right now and showing us the products you like to use for that. Are there any shadow sticks you actually like. Or nice quick 1 and down shadows. Great quads or small palettes for on the go. That is the vibe I am after for right now.

And lip techniques, like why do you put powder on them first? I like my lips to be emollient and not feel like glue... just curious what does that do using the powder... I'm older so no clue about newer ways of doing things...I maybe doing it all wrong all these years 😅
