I just decluttered all of my eyeshadow palettes. I curated and swapped out shades in the ND Gold, Biba, and Lila and made them how I wanted and got rid of the Purple/Blue, Pastel, Bronze, Metropolis, Glam, Yucca, Retro and Star palette and it feels so good. Never in a million years would I have thought I would do that, but I’m so glad I did.

The reason we are not so much into eyeshadow palettes and we like smaller palettes more is because it is a trend. Everyone else is doing the same.

I wonder if eyeshadows will come back into style again ... I decluttered almost all of my eyeshadows. I always thought everything clashed with my red hair so I've always only worn a midtone brown in the crease and that's it. So I depotted a few shares from favourite pallets and put them together with a couple single Colour Pop and Mac singles into a 9 pan Z pallet I bought on Amazon. I use them up and don't buy another one to replace it until it's done. So I get the fun on buying a new eyeshadow every once in a while but I'm not spending money or taking up space with something I rarely ever use anymore.

Such a good declutter, I love your declutter videos! I totally agree with you on Pat McGrath. I own 2 Motherships and I think they're more aspirational for me. I like the idea of wearing those intense shadows/duochromes/glitter but if I'm being honest with myself, I'd prefer to reach for the YSL quad in 300 Kasbah Spices and do a warm neutral look. Feels more "me"!

Surprisingly I keep buying eyeshadow saying I'm not going to because I basically barely use it now just like a brown matt usually that's it. Same I love quads and quints I don't care for bigger pallets.

Finally someone that actually is realistic and declutters things that are not 100% their vibe. I am so tired of the I am keeping this for collection /comparison/ limited edition excuse. This was beautiful. Also , unpopular opinion , but I am right there with you on the Pat McGrath palettes. Overhyped and way overpriced for literally the same color story in all palettes.

Have you tried the Lunar Beauty Nude Prism palette? I have similar taste in eyeshadows & color stories, and its my absolute favorite! The shimmers are one of a kind in my opinion!!

The Aspyn palette was the same for me and I decluttered it a year ago when I moved and I regret it like you did with the Naked. It was my favorite. But also… I won’t use it again. I need a nude and golden I am using now daily.

I feel you so much with the Pat McGrath Motherships. I wanted to love them so much. I got V and VII 2nd hand and was shocked about the quality. Sure the special shades are nice but nothing I haven't seen before, still nice though. But the rest? what the hell... the mattes are patchy, some metallics are almost transparent. Uff... then the heavy unpractical packaging. Not made for me. I do not feel luxe using this brick at all and sold them again.

finally saw the person whp doesnt like mothership palletes. I own fisrt one and divine rose 1, and I have same concerns as u do. A lot of struggle to create nice look, prefer her quint formula too. mattes look patchy, shimers i can easily dupe with cheap chinese makeup. nothing to die for. gonna try to sell it too 🤣🤣

I love smaller palettes and single pots . Last 6 months all I’ve been using are 2 shadows in my crease and one topper for the lid like the hourglass scattered pots and Lisa Eldridge liquid lurex . And that’s all I need ( thank god😅) But now what do I do with my 30+ palettes…Some I won’t ever part with like my Pat McGrath motherships but the rest can go frankly lol

Agreed ruthlessly. Seeing you declutter the DM grounds and Biba pallet hurt. I was also surprise you got rid of the ND gold pallet. There were a few surprises. But happy for you nothing like having a collection of products you actually like USING. I still buy pallets but very few and I’m super selective. Great declutter
