It has been years.. I read this manga when I was still in elementary school, and I still re read it and it never bored me.. Whenever I watch or heard new sport anime, I can't help not to think "Damn.. I miss ES21"

The 5th opening, always makes me cry. As someone who played football since 10yo and until 25, it hits right in the heart. Makes me remember when we got to the finals, we were the weakest team, only having 1 player that really had the talent to go beyond our small city, how much we worked till we got there, training 4 hours a day every single day to compensate our lack of talent with physical condition, how broken we felt when we lost for a fkng point and how we got closer as friends after that (my longest friendships cones from football), etc. The Anime and the manga perfectly resembles all those emotions, how many of us had to abandon another sports or activities because we were not built for them and how football can give you an opportunity to prove yourself, etc. I'd love to see a remaster of this oldie, adapted to this time's football's rules and with the new technologies that there are today. But please, please don't take away the original songs, those always 🎯 the hearth.

Couldn't agree more. Habashira's struggle during JPN vs USA final did make me shed a (bit) tear 🥲, reminds us of Unsui & Yukimitsu or any other player with less gifted-physical ability. This is literally my favorite manga and one of the few full manga collections I have (not my favorite anime but absolutely my favorite manga). I really hope one day the anime gets the Prince of Tennis treatment and they just do the Kanto Tournament all over again up to the MVP Game.

I’m still so mad that only the first 5 episodes were dubbed and had so much cut from them that the sub didn’t. The first time I watched the whole series was on KZbin but there wasn’t any English subtitles so I watched it all in Spanish subtitles. In Kantou Finals between Devilbats vs Dinosaur the substitute for Hiruma as a Quarterback Is not Sena, It's Yukimitsu. I don't know why the real or original Manga In Eyeshield has been disappeared In many websites, And Besides that In duel between Shin Vs Yamato to test their strength In original Manga release It Shows how many Centimeters Shin's got push far away by Yamato and Yamato got only few centimeters pushed back by shin. I read that manga already In year 2016-2017 after a few years I notice some of the chapters are already edited now. In world Cup Arc between Japan VS Germany there's a cut In chapters It jumped In climax between Japan vs Germany and It's already 4th quarter. In original The Ace Player In Germany name Heinrich schultz shows his strength and speed because his speed same as sena 4.2 seconds 40 yard dash, Even Shin and Agon give them a hard time, but Sena manage him to defeat by 4th dimension skill. I'm still wondering when and why the Original of Manga In eyeshield has been Cut off or edited😓

I only remember Shin stopping Yamato's run for the first time. It was the first time Yamato was ever stopped while it was Shin's first time to be pushed back by a full yard before stopping Yamato. I do remember Yukimitsu as a substitute quarterback. I read the manga around 2013 iirc.

@@MCB541 Nevermind, I went back and read the match, it was Sena who substituted as a QB. I do still remember Yukimitsu being a quarterback though. Maybe they did it once as a trick play on another match or they did it in the anime. The anime and the manga had different stories at the end.
