Jim Cronin was such a good, caring man. Now I can appreciate what a great loss his death was. R.I.P. Jim. Your legacy lives on.

Well said. I stumbled into this series around season 7 or 8 and just finished season 13 so I decided to go back and watch from the beginning. I have heard about Jim and see him in the credits but never saw him until I began season 1. I could tell how much Allison missed him and now that I get to see how warm and funny and caring he is my heart breaks for her even more. I admire the way she carried on the mission without him. That must have been scary and hard while grieving him but perhaps it was the best thing for her to do. What a wonderful legacy they have built.

I’ve been enjoying Arroz Mirasco’s videos of the pig tailed Macques on Monkey Hill Road just outside of Hong Kong. He films the macques in their natural habitat without any intervention. It’s amazing.

Can you imagine living in a cage for 20 years? The cruelty is astounding. What humans have done to all creatures makes me sad to be a human. Thank God for people like Alison and places like BOSF that rescue and give these animals a second chance of a normal life.

Vicki, Hello and greetings to you! I just read 📚 your post 📫 and wanted to let you know I live in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA 🇺🇸 and yes, Americans are able to view the precious videos 📹! I, personally am overjoyed to see 👀 their hard work come to fruition! Each and every single primate saved is the help each species has for a future! I can only hope and pray 🙏 more organizations can be created to help with doing this imperative work they do here! I hope you have a good day 😊!

Poor Coco. I think she's beautiful. That cage is SOOOO TINY and there is NOTHING in there to comfort her or stimulate her. No blankets, no wood wool, no company, no toys to keep her amused, no puzzle treats to figure out....not even a way to climb. Its heartbreaking. Alison had to ASK THE OWNER to provide a platform for her, just so they could see if she could climb properly. INMATES IN PRISON are better cared for than she is. And no, overfeeding her (probably the wrong diet) is NOT good care. I'm so glad she was rescued from this horrible prison that she's suffered in for the past 20 years and she's being cared for PROPERLY now by the Monkey World team.

Been binge watching these...noise in the background as I work. God bless these kind people as all they do for our Primate cousins. They are amazing animals...as are we. I've got to the point where I wonder if keeping these higher order primates and new world monkeys is the right thing. Now, obviously what Monkey world is doing is providing care and shelter for these animals that can't be returned to the wild. But zoos...idk. with the internet and the resources it provides..idk that puting these wild creatures in a prison for our amusement is the right thing...anymore. it served s purpose st one time but just like in how technology changes the world, I'm wondering if this is something that needs to change as well. Elephant, big cats and so on as well. When you see a big cat pacing in it's enclosure at a zoo...thsts anxiety. In their natural habitat they would be patrolling their territory daily for miles! Thousands and even millions of years of evolutionary instinct being stifled. Doesn't seem right to me. I love you going to the zoo and seeing these amazing animals. I just feel these higher functioning animals are not being treated as they deserve. Sure, they are well cared for but...what's being well cared for count for...when you're still in a prison cell?

It probably would have been better had you just removed all of his teeth during the original surgery years ago. Teeth can cause a major amount of problems health wise, as I'm sure you know, and having only 3 or 4 left only served to probably damage the gums, from time to time, and cause possible unnecessary infections over the years. His having them actually made it more difficult for him to eat. Trust me I know, I have had zero teeth for 13 years now. Having them all removed instead of keeping a couple of them & putting up with all the health issues, cost, and annoyance was the best decision I ever made. My only regret is that I didn't do it many years sooner and save all the unnecessary pain and financial hardship that came along with trying to save them. Not to mention, I also haven't had to brush my teeth or see a dentist for all that time. Also the issue of bad breath from gum infections & other complications, such as a life threatening abscess, was completely eliminated. Charlie may have lived many years longer had he not gotten that abscess due to that one rotten tooth. Just something to consider in the future. Sorry for your loss.

It breaks my heart and makes me angry to know that intelligent people like scientists don't seem to give a thought to the well being of the poor animals they are using for research. I guess if you can get away with being neglectful, and abusive and their are no laws in place to protect these animals in labs, you will do it. I think it is disgusting and I don't know why animals rights groups are not making a really big deal out of the treatment these creatures suffer. I don't think making a few changes for these animals is that big of a deal or all that costly so I just don't get why things have not changed for lab animals.
