@@EytschPi42true, but the others can't be used (as well) for other things like this. All of them have specific functions. I am mainly gonna use it in studio on "static" positions. But I do want to be able to use it for run and gun as well, especially since most of the gear I want to use to build it, I can also use for other set ups. In the future I will probably buy a camera more suitable for run and gun out of the box, but even then a G2 will be a good backup 😊 And just loving this thing. You can put a USB hub on it, attach SSD, control, and hook up to the network to ftp your files of the SSD. This way you can put it in a place you can't reach easily and never have to detach your SSD. 😂 Thnx for responding appreciate that. Love your content, subscribed.

Question. The bigger studio cameras with the build in 10g networking, do these support ftp as well, that way you can get your SSD files over the network too. might be interesting for live streaming events that also get a post-production version. For the 6k version? Also looking into converters to NDI.. any experience with that in your workflow? You make me think, nice 😊
@EytschPi429 ай бұрын
Not sure about FTP… it works easily on the ;K7 switcher, but not sure about the cam. NDI would require a separate converter. In that case it makes a lot more sense to buy BMDs own camera converter and retain remote functions.

Super interesting stuff, thank you for this series! Q: How do you manage the HDMI-out lag and the different delays between cameras in a multicam real-time editing when using Atem iso workflow? Or is there anything to deal with in the first place? I have noticed some lag in the hdmi-out of my two Lumix S5ii cameras when using external monitors. And I'm planning to add Blackmagic Micro Studio(s) in my lineup. These different cameras and brands would obviously have different output delays to the video-signal if I'm not mistaken?

Hi, Thanks for the detailed video ! I've a Atem mini extreme ISO hdmi. I want to upgrade my set. What is the advantage of using a Studio 4K plus G2 over Pocket Cinema Camera 4K ? Since the Atem mini extreme doesn't support 4K and I don't have plans to upgrade the mini any time soon, I don't see any advantage. The cameras will only be used to film indoor to make explainer video of boardgames. Hope share your thoughts on this. Thank you.

Hi Henning! I can’t put into words just how grateful I am for all of your buyers guide videos as they have been so helpful. One question for you that you may be able to answer, would you go the Blackmagic route without an on hand producer/director especially with the lack of continuous auto focus? I have an Atem extreme ISO so I really want to continue to go down the Blackmagic route for my studio, but the lack of continuous auto focus is a concern for me (a relative newb with little practical experience).

without someone switching for you, there are a few options with footswitches etc, but realistally.... no, I wouldn't. I think you need someone on the ATEM

Hey hey :-) I've just bought 2 micro studio 4K G2 camera's, but for some reason I'm a little confused on which BNC cables to buy. I need both IN + OUT (for camera control) in 3G version. I would be super grateful if you, would happen to have a link to the ones you recommend the most :-) I want to connect the to the ATEM SDI EXTREME ISO. I can see in your video that your have short blue cables which are then connected to another SDI cable. Is this because you just needed to make the cable longer? Cheers!
@EytschPi423 ай бұрын
Yes, it’s to make the cables longer. The problem is that BMD changed the connector and most of the mini SDI cables you can get are the ones that are spring loaded and not like a mini BNC… now the cameras use regular mini BNC. Sommer Cable in Germany makes them and they are great. Mini BNC to a BNC connector (male?) so that you can easily plug in a longer cable.

At 39 minutes and 53 seconds, regarding the BMPCC 6K: Clearing up any confusion, although it resembles a pocket camera in its design, the full-frame camera is not classified as a Pocket Camera. Therefore, omit the "P" when referring to it. It is simply known as the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K. On the other hand, the BMPCC 6K G2 and BMPCC 6K Pro models are indeed pocket cameras.

@EytschPi429 ай бұрын
The hoodie: mrgugu.com As for the touch to focus... NO, not as far as I know. There is a focus button in the back, but it focuses in the middle of the picture and doesn't even do it well. These cameras are NOT for autofocus... you are meant to twist the lens.

All well, but in the end, I think, the best camera is the same as the best guitar: the one you have. Is there, by any chance, a reasonable way to integrate USB webcams into an Atem switching system? Simply because a lot of people have webcams around with more or less reasonable quality. Starting from that to a halfway complete BlackMagic setup (Camera, Lens, Cables, Switcher, etc.), is probably prohibitively expensive in many cases. But if there's a switcher, where people can use their existing Webcam for the start, would be a good step into growing the setup.
@EytschPi4210 ай бұрын
Not that I know of… incorporating USB cameras isn’t possible.
@christofdonat270210 ай бұрын
@@EytschPi42 One option might be, to attach the webcam to a Raspberry PI, and have it display, whatever it gets from that camera on the HDMI port. On the other hand, that kind of defeats the idea of systems like the BlackMagic universe, that is meant to be usable without much tinkering.
@scenljus210 ай бұрын
The new full frame 6K Blackmagic camera is called Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K (BMCC 6K) so they took away the pocket from the naming since it isn’t really pocket sized anymore. Also they wanted to illuminate the fact that it is a new system with totally different insides than the pocket series.

very cool that the workflow also works with other cameras, even though it is a bit more work. YES, I think the 6K and the micros will match easily as far as color goes. The only thing that could stand in your way are the lenses. The 6K uses EF and the micro uses MFT. Even from manufacturer to manufacturer the colors are pretty different which is why I try to stick to Panasonic MFTs. You could find that the EF lenses might look a bit different... only trial and error can help there.
