@@matthewpshostak yes, I know I probably missed some. Haha, i was in Olongappo city at different times while in the Navy. I saw and met, and heard a lot of Filipino artists. I was amazed then and still at the level of expertise and dedication of Filipino artists. So 40 plus years later when music has a savior, and of course he's from the Philippines. I'm retired now and have lots of time on my hands, yeah, I'm gonna help promote EZ MIL as best I can. I'm not a the smartest cookie on the block either s.... If I'm not doing it right, I apologise, I'm just trying to help, I feel an obligation all the years nothing I did would make any difference, but now, oh but now, it's More than hope now, EZ has made it a reality. Like most everyone else, I focused more on how hilarious the lyrics were, but honestly thought EZ was all over the place with it in this one (I put it down to this being Slashy taking over 😅), which was kinda jarring since we know how much of a lyricist he is. 🤔 He always has an important message in his songs, and you the only reactor I've watched who tied it all together! It's like a lightbulb suddenly went "Ping!💡" in my brain and I see it now! You're right! This is all about the flow, and he's taking shots at those who think they spittin bars just because they can cram as much metaphors into a bar but in fact have zero flow. He's showing that he can do that too, but better! Like the "Waste a whole verse on erectile dysfunction" --- who you taking a shot at, EZ? 😂 Now that I see it, I can't unsee it, haha! Hello SFJ. I would like to say I loved this video. Though, I have an observation and perhaps see what you think. I think there was also a subtle subliminal jab combo that may have been snuck in there that may have been missed. His flow switches, intonation changes, slur and mumble seemed to me variations of a theme. It played very much like your point on bending and how the current industry standards have diverged and waned. Lot of what turns into that pop radio rap becomes a molded formula and like you said, rapping is more than just stringing rhymes together, punchlines or a dope chorus, proportions need to measured and peiced specifically for effect. I kind of felt he was saying "Hah bitch, your gimmick is whack, level up or shut up." By taking said gimmick and rebranding it in his own way, making something more coherent.
