No, that wasn't on purpose. He just totally happened to be filming at at the time I tripped LOL. It's certainly not ideal for every situation. But if you need a quick tie-down. This works good

I’ve done a farmers market in FL for 6 years. The best hold down I have found is to use 16” long concrete landscape edging inside the sand bags that come with many canopies and hang one from each corner of the canopy using a large S hook. In heavier winds I attach two to each corner. They weigh about 17lbs each and cost less than $3 each

I've been camping enough to know that, the 550 cord even when "tight" still has enough stretch in it to allow all 4 legs to be lifted JUST ENOUGH that the canopy literally looks like it tripped over it's own foot and if it's windy enough, becomes a sail and pulls the table with it if it isn't anchored to the ground. I know guys lines are annoying, but if you're around people without spacial awareness, put a pool noodle on the guy lines.

@mimiseeyou3 жыл бұрын
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow Haha not hating. Yes I quit cold turkey last June when I got drunk and forgot to make my son’s 1st birthday cake the day before his party. I had to buy a store cake. Family all came in and had RV’s and tents everywhere. Hadn’t drank much since before pregnancy. I don’t want to be a spaced out mom, and I can’t just drink 3-4 beers like a normal person. Tbh I had prayed about it on my own before him but never stopped.. but after how disappointed I was in myself FOR HIM I think it was the 1st time I really meant it. I literally laugh every time I camp or grill out now and pay for Odoul’s 😂 I put a coozie on and no big deal.

Damn, yeah but forgetfulness stuff can really bite you. That's actually one of the main reasons I've been thinking about kicking it. Feel like as I'm getting older I'm getting more and more forgetful and drinking is probably not helping. Hats off to you for kicking it cold turkey!

@@NoNonsenseKnowHow The brain fog is real! I know right! It gets so much better within a month. I’m social and talkative. I just like the taste of beer and having one in my hand around a camp fire. The first time you wake up in your tent to the smoldering heat and not dehydrated and hungry and head pounding... you’ll feel a sensational sense of accomplishment you’ve never experienced with work or projects haha. Being able to hop in a kayak or hike the next morning and not worrying about your hangover level is worth the push! Even if you can’t master it every time... I wanted to be able to have a few real beers and just rotate... but I’m a maniac and can’t accomplish that lol.

I have a tent the same as yours it came with netting for bugs, but when it rains we get wet, so I bought what is called rain curtains that go on the outside of the netting to keep us dry. The problem was I got the wrong size and its too big. it is for a 10x10 square canopy tent but mine is floor 10x10 and the top of the poles are 8x8. Do you have an easy fix for me to fit the rain curtain, as it is awkward and it's too big and the wind makes the curtains billow,? Am a senior lady and am stuck !!

You presented a very good idea, however, the so called "slip knot" you show binds up, jams, and is really difficult to untie. A much better anchor point for a trucker's hitch is the Alpine Butterfly knot which can be pulled upon in any direction and is NON-jamming and easy to untie.
