Fun “Behind the Song” story; In a 2012 Lionel Richie tribute, before Kenny & Lionel sing Lady together (really good! Link below), Kenny tells how he called Lionel, to write a song for him. When they met for the 1st time, Lionel had only 1 word, “Lady”, & a bit of melody. 6 months later they’re in the studio. Kenny recorded the 1st verse, asked where the 2nd verse was, & found out that Lionel was in the toilet, writing the rest of the song. In a later interview, Lionel adds to the story, making it even funnier. He said, the 1 word he had was actually “Baby”, but when they 1st met, Kenny talked on & on about his wife, repeatedly calling her a “Lady”, so when Kenny finally asked the name of the song, Lionel blurted out “Lady.” Vid of Kenny & Lionel together; kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJSbeoFje9OFn8U

This is one of the best reactions I've seen... I like in the beginning how Lady Bre gets ready to play the song and is kind of bouncing around a little not knowing what she was about to experience. She became mezmerized by the voice, the man, Kenny Rogers. Bre didn't bounce around, bob her head really hard like other reactors I see.... Bre was sucked into the video, taken aback by what many call "talent". Women are so special and I love her facial responses and how she related to the lyrics. True reaction, honest and sincere and from someone who understands love... Music at its best

It’s because all ladies wish their men could tell them how much they love them. And so many men don’t. I mean, men will say ‘I love you’, but don’t go any deeper than that. I think once you find your true love, that love is taken for granted. Like it will always be there. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not lumping all men together. But the men who can express their love in a special way is far and inbetween.

Kenny and Lionel were very good friends right up to the day he passed. They were both very much involved in the creation of We Are The World ( song written by Lionel and Michael Jackson) - U.S.A. for Africa was the idea of Harry Bellefonte, money was raise to aid Africa. Almost the entire continent was experiencing horrific famine. The initial recording was done at Kenny's studio (before they pulled in all of the artists. Here is one of my favorite performances of "She Believes In Me", a duet with Lionel and Kenny: kzbin.info/www/bejne/omapkGiXlJ12rcU If you've never heard "We Are The World" 1985, you should check that out. He is so missed by so many from his generation, all I can say is that he had a great voice & is sadly missed. He was in a group for awhile, but because his voice was so phenomenal he ventured out on his own. Right decision because his band disappeared with changing times ( hippie generation), his voice went on to make world records.
