EZcarlift -- Model SU - mobile mechanics' lift

I own this lift for my Corvette for the last 5 years, this lift works great, this weekend I removed my transmission, don’t know what I would have done without. Expensive , maybe a little , but being able to store it against my garage wall is a real plus. If it were stationary, I would be tripping over it every day when not in use. For all you NAY sayers , read the post of people like me that own one, not what you “THINK “ about it before you even know what you are talking about. When you own one ,than that will give you the ability to know what you are talking about. This lift would be the last thing that I would get rid of in my garage.

You make a valid point. It as probably fairly heavy and would require proper storage as well. It has been far less expensive using aluminum floor jacks and 3 1/2 ton or 6 ton jack stands.

Wow! I own a mobile auto repair business and was thinking of designing something similar. That would be very helpful. The only thing I would add is a large wood piece for the wheels so they don't dig into the blacktop on a driveway. That would be great for rotating tires, brakes, CV axles, etc.

Looks like a great idea, but a buddy of mine bought an in shop lift (heavy duty) for around $4,000. Again I like the idea, and yes for those without the space for a huge lift it's a great idea, I just can't see myself spending $2,000 for a jack.

71 pounds of metal will set you back $1700 for lift + $150 shipping. Big plus for make it here in United States. These are really meant for remote areas, side of the road you bring your Battery powered drill. There are really nice Power Jack like QuickJack 5175376 BL-5000SLX Car Lift for $1300 free shipping on Amazon. There are literally hundreds I ways of lifting your vehicle. Some of the simplest ways is building a ramp out of plywood and gluing it together with an extra wide piece of plywood on the bottom for stability.

MAg, not really, the model SU is behind the oil pan so you have a great access the the pan and the whole engine. The model SU is just a single ramp. The full model, the EZcarlift.com is the one with most open area of lifts after the 2 posts

Ive done the mobile gig for nearly 20 years. How much does this thing weigh? Unless you have a Tommy Lift on the back of the truck, I cant imagine hauling this thing in and out. Great idea though for the right truck set up.

but the cross bars are in the way if you need to do anything in the middle of your car, or clutch work. And on that mustang you wouldn't be able to change the oil with it there, the pan is right in front of where that thing was and would get oil everywhere, and theres no where els to put something like that under that model mustang

the cross bar can unbolt and come off after the lift is in the air. I've dropped many a transmission and driveshaft with mine. You put the cross bar with the drive shaft towards the rear and the other one towards the front. Once the car is in the air there are 4 bolts on the front of the lift holding the front cross bar on and it easily slides off. Had mine for 6+ years, it has held up nice, breaks down quick and easy and just leave it together and lean it up against the wall and out of the way.

I re-looked at vid. Sorry my bad. This is a cut down version of the lift. The full version has two of these connected with cross bars and slides under and lifts the entire car. You are correct, this version only looks good for changing tires. The full version "EZCarLift" is a very neat, if very expensive, tool that is great for home projects. love mine.

sugershakify ah gotcha. I actually looked them up awhile ago and found that they don't have enough capacity for me. I need to be able to lift a full size pickup so around 6000lbs. I'm thinking about getting a quick jack. similar prices, portable, hydraulic so maybe less wear and tear, and lifts 7000lbs.

I went with a Max Jacks mid-lift 2-post lift after having this thing for a while. Those little Max Jack mid lifts work great too. Great for people who dont have the head room for a traditional 2-post and rated at 6,000lbs I believe. Mustangs are all I'm working on, so dont know about using it to lift a truck...
