Ben is spitting facts here. Who would honestly join a club if they’re told “you’re only going to play when ___ is injured or suspended”? We need to start behaving like a big club, we can’t just think “who’s he going to play backup to?” all the time. We have to make sure we have healthy competition everywhere and everyone should realistically have a chance of starting if they perform well. We’re hopefully gonna play 50+ games next season (and international duty), we have to be able to rotate without dropping too much in quality. Also, some games might require different types of players, therefore, the rotational players shouldn’t just be like for like-backups either.
