I love this format and I wrote down 5 new games to buy, so it worked great for me! I really appreciate you saying your favorite mode-1 player, 2 player, whatever-and why. My husband and I play a lot of board games, which is new for us, we wanted to spend time together doing something and not just having a show on, ignoring each other on our devices. We are loving Wingspan Asia (for 2 and we added cards from expansions and the awesome fan art deck) and now Sky Team, Arboretum (because it’s quick and easy), and Chronicles of Crime (we are so bad at it). We have a couple friends we play board games with a few times a month (because they live 90 min away) and we are starting a board game group of friends who are closer. Sorry I got so wordy, I’m loving your videos! And the comments always make me look at other games. Books too!

Love harmonies. The best part is that it’s so easy to get to the table. The game that I have been mildly obsessed about is race to the raft. It’s so puzzley! It’s in the same world of isle of cats but easier to learn

Hey, Jason, great video! I love listening to you rave about what you love in games and books. I like the format of discussing a handful of games at a time. Another channel I watch, After Evenfall, has a 5 minute bites video series where she reviews 5 games at a time for about 5 minutes each, resulting in an approximately 30-minute video. Black Rose Wars looks so cool! But I just splurged on a Flamecraft pre-order - cute dragons, fun gameplay! - when I'm trying to mostly stick to the public library for free entertainment. 😅💞🙌🌈

I found your channel by accident about a month ago, and I can’t figure out how you are me in KZbinr form. All my favorite things: games, books, and scrapping while saying whatever is on the random meandering path your brain takes you down and talking super fast. (Okay, maybe that’s just because I watch all videos at 1.75 speed….) This weekend was short for boardgaming, just a few rounds of cards. A friend brought Kittin, but we decided one round was enough, and ended up pulling out Ohanami to play for the first time in a while. More important was the camaraderie while spouses and children were away!

Two games have found their way back in to steady rotation lately; Pergamon by Stefan Dorra and Ralf zur Linde, and Seeland by Wolfgang Kramer and Günter Burkhardt. Pergamon is my favorite Dorra and zur Linde collaboration. I am very glad it got a second edition a few years back and only made a few minor changes to the design. Seeland could also use a reprint, but it can still be found relatively cheap on the secondary market. It is a great tile layer, that plays very well at 2 player with lots of interaction. Both games hadn’t hit the table for a few years, and I am very glad they are getting consistent play again.

The Ghost pieces expansion of Project L is definitely worth it. It brings a nice touch to the gameplay. Did you know that the creators of Project L created Square One, another game in a similar vibe? It's in production at this moment.

The Black Rose box is beautiful. In role playing games I always lean towards mages/wizards and elves. I enjoy seeing your game recommendations. I love all kinds of board games and card games. If it's cards, games or books I'm always gonna buy them.

Rodman The Wraeththu books by Storm Constantine there are also other books set in the same world by other authors Perilous Courts series by Tavia Lark and Alpha's son and chasing the Alpha's son by Penny Jessup and the Hex world series by Jordan L. Hawk

I recently received my all-in copy of Black Rose Wars: Rebirth and got it to the table with several friends yesterday, it was so much fun! Yes, it’s tough to understand at first, but as we played the turns got much quicker. I can’t wait to play it again! But…the Black Rose destroyed us and none of us were anywhere close to winning because of it, but still so much fun.

One suggestion, Jaysen. Can you also mention the game designer’s name when you are mentioning the publisher’s name? Because sometimes you will pickup on the fact that you like games from a certain designer - or you will try one game and then notice that that same designer did another game, which intrigues you to try it! Considering all the games you presented here, I have a feeling you could enjoy a game I came across recently. It's called Tragedy Looper. Yes, it is a bit older but I think you would really enjoy it. Also, if you have the Apocalypse expansion for BRW:R, you should try the two modes it brings. Especially the tournament mode. So much fun. Thanks for sharing your current obsessions.

Omg we won tragedy looper but it’s been SO long since we played it!! I think I’ll have to pull it out again! And we do own the expansion! I went all in but there’s so much, I’m very slowly sifting through all of it 😅

20:19 I DON’T like polyomino games (I would much rather just play Tetris), but Project L looks like a game which I would like - maybe because it is more of an engine-builder and less about the polyominos… Of course, I will have to give it a try to know for sure!
