I have a question whats the required gear ratio from the starter to the engine to have enough torque to turn over and start ? I plan on implementing one of these starter generators into a go kart build. But I haven’t found any information on what size pully would be required on the engine coming from the starter.

not really sure a pretty good bit I imagine, the starter generators are no joke. from a mechanical point they are more power hungry than a typical starter, they usually run a larger pully and dont have a gear reduction... cant really give you a helpful answer

@@1beastlydudefixbreakrepeat ohh if there pretty torquey then they should have much of a problem turning over a small engine like a 16cubic inch motor

what ever i came with, sorry Im not much help... but what ever ezgo shipped it with is best.. I would go oem if possible.

Its a homemade flat bed ag cart i made. I found a 1to4.8 ratio was plenty to start a 250cc engine. I appreciate the help anyway tho!

just put a wrench on the pulley to walk it on....done

Long story but I took the starter/alt out of my bosses 2002 ez go workhorse golf cart because it wore out. I left one wire attached to it so I'd know my wiring diagram putting it back in. Not realizing they were going to take it and have it rebuilt they took that wire off of it and I don't think it's in the right place when they put the wire back on so now I'm all throwed off as to what wire goes where.. I've googled and googled but no success in finding the actual wiring diagram for the 5 or 6 wires from the cart to the starter. Can anyone help me out and save my butt from wiring it back wrong and burning it up please???
