Great video. Very thorough. Well explained. I thought it was the belt but now I'm seeing a wire hangin down sparking when I accelerate so I gotta see where that goes

So i inherited an 86 3 wheeler ezgo. The engine runs and wants to move but that belt doesn't spin. The engine is also oriented 90° Where the belt runs perpendicular and above the axel. It looks like the big clutch is spinning though. Any ideas where i can start to look would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the video. How does the drive engage? We replaced our belt but the clutch is not engaging.

Nice video. Does it make a difference if the "cogs" are inside or out?? Your old one they were on the outside but the new one they are on the inside. Thanks, Larry

Hi, different belt manufactures manufacture differently. It may be either.

My cart takes forever to engage and move forward when I step on the gas. Does a bad belt cause that ?

How tight are clutch belts supposed to be? I have a cart, runs good. When I give it has it takes a while, or higher rev/ rpms for cart to go/ kick into gear/ drive. So just wondering how tight they supposed to be because mine is loose, but so is your new one. I’m hoping it can be adjusted and I don’t need a new clutch. Any suggestions?

Can you tell me what year cart and the belt number you are using. You should have about 1.5-2.5 inches the belt can be pushed up and down. It should not be very tight. It tightens as the clutch engages. Did it have the same issue with the previous belt. Sounds like someone changed the clutch spring.

@@tmiele135 I just bought a 2001 Workhorse and on hills there is some slippage and squealing. Stopping on a steep incline can render all squeal and no go. First thought was replacing the belt since it has 2.5-3" deflection and I assumed this had to be wrong. But it looks like your properly sized new belt has similar play. I may have to order the engagement clutch but it's surprisingly pricy and have to do a puller of some type. It seems to me that if the tapered clutch properly "squeezes" the belt, it should still grab. I am finding I don't have an EZGO dealer to help me diagnose!

@@tkobvious could be many things. Weak spring in primary clutch, wrong belt, etc. the belt should not squeal T all on a clutch. Send me a video of your issue to my email. Tmiele135@gmail.com

Is there any tension spring or pully that tightens the belt
@tmiele1352 ай бұрын
No if the belt is the correct size you don’t need to do anything.

How do you know when you need a new belt

Broken teeth, dry rot or slipping. It’s a good idea to change it every couple years.
