Super late to this video, but I just wanted to point out, Ezinne, that Piercing the Darkness is actually the sequel to This Present Darkness. It doesn't affect too much as they're not strictly dependent on each other to make sense (i.e., they can stand alone), but some things make more sense when you read This Present Darkness first. 😅

Francine is my favourite author as well🥺, I splurge on her books with my last dime😹 That woman is a blessing to the body of Christ and I think Redeeming love is my best, I had a personal encounter with God after reading it, I saw His love in a whole different light❤. The Mark of the Lion series is so faith challenging and if you liked it, you should read “A Lineage of Grace” as well, in fact, I think all her books challenge me to do better spiritually. Lori Wick is another Christian Romance writer I recommend, her book called the Hawk and the Jewel is such a masterpiece!!! And yes Francine has a book called The Masterpiece and it is a masterpiece 😹❤️. Thank you for the recommendations Ezinne😊.

Totally loved this episode because books are bae! Frank Peretti is such a gooood but rarely mentioned author. Forever grateful for the day I met his books. Favorite author has to be Karen Kingsbury. Not particularly a Francine Rivers fan but, my favorite works are Masterpiece (GOATed), Marta's legacy series (I bawled my eyes out on this one) and of course, mark of the lion series. Grateful for amazing authors that write great Christian fiction. Thank you for sharing this. Looking forward to more book reviews because i totally loved this one. It's so refreshing to listen to you. I've finally found someone who's as excited about fiction books just as I am. I've read Redeeming Love a bazillion times. Every time I read it I learn something new and it pushes me to pray as well. Mark of the lion is the saddest book I've ever read. Read it once and I don't think I've the strength to cry again. I kept saying "no no no" at the ending part. Just to add, as a fellow fiction lover😂, I recommend these books: 1. Her mother's hope and her daughters dream by Francine rivers. It's a two part book. I've read it as much as I've read Redeeming Love. It's so good. 2. White chocolate moments by Lori Wick 3. Who brings forth the wind by Lori Wick 4. OMG. I love Francine Rivers. One of the first novels I ever read was Redeeming Love and then I just started reading others. I have only read one book in the trilogy and it was amazing, though I'd say my favourite book of hers is 'The Lady's Mine.' Let me put you on my favourite author, Tessa Afshar. All her books are based on or around Bible characters. I mean absolutely amazing. The characters, the story telling, the imagination, everything. Each time I read a part of my Bible she has written about, I remember it and....it's just great. I'd recommend you start with 'Pearl in the Sand,' based on Salmon and Rahab's story (yes, Rahab the prostitute who hid the Hebrew spies). I read Good Morning Holy Spirit when I was still pretty unserious so I think I'll read it again. Tongues Beyond the Upper Room has to be the best non-fiction I've read (though there's not a lot to choose from😂) I think you'll also like The Attributes of God by Arthur Pink
