Because they play with our feelings. Assassins Creed died after Black Flags, giving us hope that the old Assassins will return. But they don't. Ubisoft has become disgusting and remain it forever. They've never understood how profoundly the old Assassins Creed games have framed peoples life and especially youth. Tell me any game these days, which is able to do this. The story, the love, the passion, so many people still gather together in the comment section of the old trailers and tell each other, how much they miss it. Maybe one day we will get back the games which were made from gamers, for gamers. Then the light, which the Assassins have fought in the darkness for, will stay forever..

This shit makes me so emotional for real. I was just a kid back then. Just a little boy dreaming about living in 13-16 century and being an assassin. Dealing with all issues in a different way. Living with my brother. Chasing something greater than just regular life. Well, here I am, without my brother, doing an ordinary crappy life just so I can afford house payments, car payments, provide food for my wife and me, and just absolutely falling into the same issue as everyone does. I still sometimes dream of a different world. A world where we would live up to these legends. AND MAY IT NEVER CHANGE US.

Many decades would pass before I understood the meaning of all three. And now, the twilight of my life, this understanding has passed into contentment. Love, liberty, and time: once so disposable, are the fuels that drive me forward. And love, most especially, mia cara. For you, our children, our brothers and sisters. And for the vast and wonderful world that gave us life, and keeps us guessing. Endless affection, mia Sofia. Forever yours, Ezio Auditore."

Affetto senza fine, mia Sofia. Per sempre tuo

And here, at last, I discover a strange truth. That I am only a conduit for a message that eludes my understanding. Who are we, who have been so blessed to share our stories like this? To speak across centuries? Maybe you will answer all the questions I have asked. Maybe you will be the one to make all this suffering worth something in the end." -Ezio Auditore, of Florence.

The first AC games I ever played were AC 1, Brotherhood and 3 when I was a young teenager, and having experienced the saga in order as it should be, as it was intended to be... was unforgettable. One of my issues with later AC games in terms of music is that it is extremely blend and relies heavily on nostalgia without creating anything new that could match the perfection of the AC II Original soundtracks (ACIII and IV had some cool soundtracks, not as impacting but at least unique). AC is not lonely in this case, many long running game franchises go down that same pit. (eg. I was super dissapointed with the BotW soundtracks which was mostly made out of ok remixes of previous games' themes) (Haven't played Vahalla yet, I believe our Lord and Savior Jesper Kyd is back at it?)

One of my few disappointments with Mirage is the way they buried this theme in the credits. :-(
