I had a "perfect storm" scenario that cost me an ostrich egg. I found journal scrap 10 after being in the volcano all day so I got my ostrich egg and headed home. I did not ship or farm anything that day so I had a lot of work ahead of me so I made some crab cakes for speed and went to bed. Woke up and found my egg was gone. I know I didn't ship it because I didn't ship anything so I assumed that if you cook something it will take your ingredients from your inventory before your fridge and those crab cakes were cooked with ostrich egg. Since I didn't discover that until the next morning I could not just restart my day because I made the crab cakes the night before. Even now I laugh because it was one of those things that had five different factors. Or I could be laughing to hide my pain of knowing the only way I'm going to find another one is in the volcano.

Snake Vertebrae bones will also drop from artifact spots on the farm land, It does not have to be south of the farm land.

I think if you get 5 hearts with them you get one every day. I'm not completely sure but it's kind of like dinosaur

I struggled a LOT with the mummified bat. I knew exactly where to get it, but it just refused to drop! I spent in game day after in game day in the volcano trying to get the fossil. The day I finally got it I ended up with 5 bats. I still have no idea how my odds changed so drastically.

I think the ostriches lay eggs once weekly! And they’re extra awesome because they give whatever star quality mayonnaise the egg was before you put it in the machine!

i got all the fossils except the mummified bat in the first in game month or two...that at took me 3 in game years of consistantly going in the volcano untili found one, and since then i've only ever found 3 others. i made the island obelisk before ever finding a bat lol

And every time you get a mahogany seed, it appears in sparks with the fancy sound effect as if it was something rare and fancy

TL;DW: How to get an ostrich? Step 1: Suffer. Seriously, the skull and Tail were a nightmare because of Golden Coconut and panning RNG! Also I need help if you can, I need 1 artifacts left, it’s the Prehistoric Scapula. It’s been 6 years in game and I still haven’t found it!

LOL, after I got the ostrich egg (which I never realized I had) I made my evening rounds on the farm and collected all the eggs from my chicken coop... I must've accidentally made ostrich egg mayonaise with it because I never found it after that. And digging in the same spot where I got the walnut yeilded nothing which means that I did something with it before I even knew I had it. Now, for me to get another one, I must find it in a rare chest in the volcano dungeon!

@@turritowrap6679 I eventually found one ...it's in the T2 chests in the ruins inside the Volcano dungeon. If you can just make it to them and keep checking them you'll eventually find one too.

Edit: When I originally typed this I was trying to get as many walnuts (and the ostrich egg) just as I got to Ginger Island. I found out that you have to have the "scrap paper note" first that shows you the location of the ostrich egg. After I got it, I went back and was able to get the egg.

This confirmed my suspicions about the snake vertebrae’s being really rare! I did the entire collection in autumn and winter then spent another spring constantly searching for the last darn snake vertebrae. In the end I got seriously bored with it and cheated it in by buying another rabbit and calling it [826]. Problem solved! 😉

It's a bug exclusive to the switch version, the drop rate is messed up

I think The game mechanism that make always the last items in the collection are hard to find. At my first profile on the game, the last item in the museum is Golden Relic, and Snake's skull for the Island Field. Took me days to find 'em. And at the 2nd profile i'm playing right now are Golden Mask and Tail.

Is the new volcano mine good for iridium?

It's not bad, You can find iridium on any floor even on floor one However, I have never seen more than two iridium nodes in close proximity So I am a little skeptical XD Instead, I would recommend duplicating tons of Jades with the Crystalarium and trade them for Staircases at the Desert trader Then just skip one hounded floors and leave with all the iridium you could ever want 😂😋

If you're farming for cinder shards, you'll find maybe 5-15 iridium nuggets along the way each time, as a rough guess.

Once you finish the community center, willy will show you a boat that needs to be repaired. You repair it with battery packs and iridium bars and then you can take the boat to ginger island :)

I think the easiest way to make decent money in the early game is by fishing and just planting as many crops as you can It takes awhile, but as soon as you get some sprinklers up, you can really start to make big money pretty quickly

I got some a barn and a coop early and was lucky enough to get dino egg by fishing year 1 spring. Year 2 spring I made 70,000 each rhubarb harvest so 140,000 and 4-6000 each day from pigs, cows and 3 void chickens.

For the snake body, digging isnt random so check the island every day. Once you have a dig spot on the island farm, dig it up. If you dont get the snake vertebrae then reset. Remember when I said it wasnt random? This time dig in a regular spot then dig up the worms. No body? Reset, dig two regular spots and so on. I usually wait for another day if 4-5 digs doesnt find it. But i found it pretty quick this way
