In my city the women police officers are able to search everyone and the male officers are only allowed to search males. It's more of a liability issue than respect for the officers or citizens. Imo it really shows how few women are sexual predators compared to men, that our society doesn't even worry about a woman in power sexually taking advantage of anyone. Women are just inherently more trustworthy with vulnerable people I guess and men cant be given any opportunity to abuse power. Kinda interesting. I'm a female officer and men and women are both relieved when I show up to something because women officers are know to be more helpful and less aggressive generally.

"Adults don't have friendships with underage people." Think there's a bit of a nuance here we should talk about because we're in the context of talking about predatory behavior and we run risk of conflating any adult/underage person friendship as inherently predatory. These friendships are absolutely possible, but they come with a socially-upheld power dynamic that can be extremely dangerous if the adult isn't taking active and conscious effort to refrain from exercising their power. I'm 28 and am one of those people that kids and teens tend to be extremely comfortable and open with without being a recognized authority of any sort. Many kids and teens benefit from being around adults who set aside their given authority to give them a space to speak and listen as equals. There are different kinds of friendships, and friendships between adults and kids are very much possible, just not the same as a friendship between two adults that don't have that worry of inherent power imbalance.
@JOEYjojoRUMPWRECKER2 жыл бұрын
yeah nice try creeper lol You can be 'friendly' with children, of course, but you are certainly not 'friends'. Almost every example you've tried to use has been used by, you guessed it, pedophiles!! "different kinds of friendship" GTFO with that ish.

I'm a 40 year old woman all of my friends have kids I am physically unable to have kids, so I am the cool aunt, I'm the one they call when they can't talk to their parents but I then tell their parents about everything they told me, I am friends with these young people none of us are under the illusion that I'm not older than them and friends with their parents, sometimes when their parents aren't comfortable addressing certain things I am asked to do it, everything from heavy talks 2 child exchanges because one parent abused the other parent and the parents are separated and one will literally have a PTSD episode if they have to interact with their old abuser so I am sent for the child Exchange, all of these children know that I love them and I will do everything I can to protect them I have even been told things by crying teenagers and bathrooms that I later had to repeat in a courtroom. I've even had to deal with some of these kids growing into adults, and the boys deciding at 18 or so years old that they have a crush on me, I've made it more than clear more than once but it's not okay and I'm their freaking aunt, and that they need to chase down girls their own age. There's a difference between an honest friendship and relationship where people care about each other and their well-being and it shouldn't be conflated with adults approaching underage people with perverted and malicious intentions,, they don't even have to be strangers I know lots of people who were abused by family members.. Half of this confusion is because people don't understand what friends are and there are so many people walking around with romantic intentions who say that they are friends, the term friend zone and the fact that people use it makes abundantly clear that most people have conflated real friendship and being thirsty

Granted, what they did to me wasn't "as bad" as what I experienced at home. Both are wrong, Evil and should be seen as such. Both are terrible even if one is the lesser of two evils. Simply shrugging it off is something I seen myself doing. Recognition and shining the light on it helped me be the man I am today. I don't consider myself a victim nor do I think of myself as a "survivor" of abuse. But it is an objective fact. I did experience abuse. I did experience neglect. But! That doesn't define me. The idea of using "wrong" pronouns as being a hate crime is ludicrous. If people can make up anything they want as a pronoun, then they could say, "my pronouns are czesc, dzien, weiczor" ....and if we don't even know how to pronounce it, we'd be screwed. We spend YEARS in school learning vocabulary, and that is ongoing. It can take a while before a newly learned word sticks. To expect people to learn a different set of pronouns for each person they meet is NOT REASONABLE. I haven't met anyone yet who has requested such a thing, but I've made up my mind, there is no way I'm going along with this trend. This has got to stop.

I've started saying my pronouns are "The High Priestess" whenever people say to introduce yourself with your pronouns. I recommend that for females and "His Royal Highness" for males.
@rpavlich2 жыл бұрын
Generally, a hate crime is an intentional act on the basis of a person or persons protected class. Intentional. Like refusing to address someone who has repeatedly told you their name, by that name. I'm not saying you MUST use each term/name. But, you can address a person in a manner that respects them, while respecting your own opinions.
@goodwork8872 жыл бұрын
@@rpavlich I agree with everything you said except the example you give. It is ludicrous to say that calling someone by an old name of theirs is a hate crime. I changed my name soon after college and it took many years for my family to consistently get used to calling me by my new name. Sometimes they would forget and sometimes they were just hoping I was over it and ready to go back to the name they'd raised me as, the name of a beloved elder in the family. To call that a hate crime diminishes what it means to experience an actual hate crime. Beyond this though, we aren't even talking about names, but pronouns. There are an infinite number of names but only a few pronouns to keep track of in the English language. We don't normally remember them for each person the way we do names. We draw them up from our perception on the fly as needed. That's why it can be so hard to remember to call someone who appears as a she 'they' or even 'he' just because they're asking you to. Crime? Hate? Try human. Being so controlling of others is closer to an act of violence than simply failing to keep track of which shes are supposed to be called they or he, try as you might.

@@rpavlich A crime is something you may have to pay fines/damages or serve time over. Using words should not go in that category unless it is a death threat. You start making words a crime and all you are doing is making it so cops and the legal system spend even less time dealing with real crime. "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." Grow a spine and stop letting others' "disrespect" get under your skin. I had to deal with actual bullies growing up, who stole your bikes, beat you up, threw human feces on your windows, put itch weed in your door entrance, etc etc. They called me names too and it didn't bother me at all.
@finsterbaby19962 жыл бұрын
@@rpavlich Sorry, but your argument doesn't hold up, and it's by your own definition of a "hate crime." You state that it is an intentional "act." The term "action" comes from the root word "act," which, as I'm sure you're aware, is DOING something. Not just SAYING something. So, for example, if I called someone an obscene name, or a derogatory term, or a racial or sexual slur, or even posted it on social media or on a giant lighted billboard in the middle of Times Square, that would NOT constitute a crime, as no action against the person's person had been taken. On the other hand, if I beat a gay man to a bloody pulp just because he is gay and I don't happen to approve of homosexuals, then THAT would be a crime. Get it, got it, good.

I definitely feel that if you don't identify as a man it is significantly easier to get away with being a sexual predator. For instance my underage brother was preyed on by an adult female teacher and nobody cared because she is a woman. Ezra would know this and they are clearly using their identity as a shield. A crime is a crime regardless of a person's gender identity.

Thanks for being a voice of reason. I am just a regular old cis male, lol, if one wants to lump me into a category . . . I feel like you are doing a great job of illuminating that, without alienating heterosexuals- that really have no problem with alternative lifestyles amongst consenting adults; and doing so in a way that doesn't present any opposition to that narrative as being transphobic. I'm straight as a razor, but consider myself to be a super sharp ally to any "pronoun" that has a grip on morality . . . meaning- love and light/ protecting innocence. e.g. keep sexuality out of a child's sphere of reality until they are not children. 💜

Not ezra out here looking like a literal charles manson XD On the real though, i'm going to say this for the people that need to hear it: abusers/groomers will mess with your head and try to make it seem like your own people have you in an abusive relationship and they're trying to control you. They will convince you to leave home and break contact with the only people that are capable of stopping you from making the biggest mistake of your life and following that abuser/groomer. They will tell you that their opinions and beliefs are the only ones worth following and having your own that don't match makes you the crazy one. Yes, they're the same tactics that cults use to keep their communities brainwashed and in control. Those victims and everyone in that "community" being nonbinary also reminds me of this creepy thing i see many abusers do, especially with girls: since they tend to have longer hair, they usually get these victims to keep their heads shaved/hair short as a way to humiliate them, dress in ways that don't reveal much of their bodies (or too much) so that any physical abuse is not obvious, and it's like parts of their identity (in this case in regards to gender and disguised as just "non-binary") are stripped away to keep them in a mental state of low self-esteem so that they cannot feel worthy of fighting back and having respect for themselves.
