I feel the same way Mog. Coming from Magic: The Gathering I get the whole love triangle between Aggro -> Control -> Midrange, but right now it's Aggro -> Control -> Aggro. Midrange loses hard to aggro, which feels backwards to me. Hopefully next patch corrects a few things and next expansion introduces some interesting mechanics to shake things up!

Yes, that's correct. Probably it shouldn't give it away but Naut decks are quite telegraphed... if you play a deep deck you must expect sea monsters. But anyway it's a free information for the opponent and it's annoying. I would agree for a fix.

I’d love to see more decks built with some strange cards similar to the snapvine video. I think the deck explanation for those decks are incredibly interesting and that it makes for some of your best gameplay to see you playing completely outside the box. As for a specific suggestion. Maybe you’ll have better luck with it than I did. A Noxus and Piltover deck built around Katarina and Midenstoke Henchmen. It’s pretty bad but being able to have one might turn into a full board from katarina rallies (granted this is gonna be a once in twenty games scenario) is pretty spectacular. Love the videos. Keep it up man you’ve basically been a part of my runeterra experience since day one when a friend suggested I check you out

6:14 I've been having a lot of fun with kalista/mokai (mokai as primary win con, kalista for heal and mokai progression). Shipwreck hoarder as an added win con in slower matches (kalista synergy). I mentioned this deck during a stream I think, but Fortune Lucian is a very fun and strong combo. Of course, it’s a midrange combo so it doesn’t work too well, but powder monkeys with Lucian is very fun and I’d highly recommend it

You could try TF + Freljord. Reasons for picking Freljord are protection (brittle steel, iron, fury) and pumping up units with starlit and shared spoils. This deck was incredibly strong before Sejuani meta (got me to masters with ease), trash when Sejuani was on top and it's doing very well again. It's very reliable in leveling up TF fast, around 4 out of 5 games. Wins come either from "haha TF value" or swarming your opponent with cheap buffed units. As a bonus, it's a perfect deck if you want to absolutely positively smash kinkou elusives. This matchup is the most one sided stomp I've seen in this game. Not to mention that you would have decks with TF paired with 5 out of 6 other regions.

I totally understand you man. I really enjoyed the game but with the last patch in every game i see same 3-4 decks and other fun decks becomed too underwhelming against them. So i started to use this decks too but then the game becomed too burdersome for me like a job not like a hobby. Now all i do is playing 2-3 normal games to do quests so i can get at least a diamond chest on tuesdays. I hope they fix this issue with next patch.

Hey Mogwai ! I really like your videos ! I recently tried to build a Piltover / Bilgewater that allow to play the new buffed Mind Melt. The deck deal with one cost units with cards like Double Trouble and Scrapdash Assembly that works very well with Professor Van Yipp. I play Fizz (easy level up and get stronger with the Professor), few low mana cost Spells and Heimer to easily got a full board and allow a huge Mind Belt. Zap Sprayfin is a needed card too, allowing to draw spells and can be a win condition by going face with the Belt. The deck probably need to improve but i think he may can be viable, and i'd like so much to see you playing it !

I was 100% using this deck the most to counter all the Elusive/Noxus agro decks. It works a treat. Still lose some, of course but the removal is just great. Especially love Chempunk Pickpocket forcing players to play units rather than reserve mana to enact their strategies. It's so fun.

Mogs. I love your content. Most watchable LOR on KZbin for sure. I think aggro gets a bad rep from other games (I’m a decade long MTG player). I am also an aggro player period. I played modern and legacy burn for years and I’ve played the best aggro build in standard. All the being said. The aggro game is hard in LOR. Yes like most decks you can cheat a win because of bad draws. But mogs once talked about aggro being a harder archetype in this game and I agree. It takes skill to play aggro decks in this game. I like that. End of story. Hyper aggro decks are fine and shift the Meta in a healthy way. See y’all when I jump in with discard aggro

I love playing a going wide version of miss fortune and quinn atm! Almost entirely bilgewater focussed with the newly buffed card, double trouble and navigator. A few dawnspeakers and then i can really punish attacks of my opponent with great full board buffs. Also been dabbling in throwing in a a lucian for the early pressure and rally. As finishers ive throwns in 2 genevieves, the orange man and a sheriff. Overall really decent deck ! Ive not run in to too much agro but in the games that I have I can keep up with the pressure mostly. Against control its pretty great when you go turn 3 with 3 spell mana double trouble into the buffed card (forgot its name). Big open swing which they cant really answer (except SI wail D: ). You guys should definitely try it out it has a lot of promise

I think part of the reason the meta is so stale is partly due to some not really needed nerfs in the latest update. Cards like unyielding spirit (i know its annoying but it was being played less and less), dreg dredgers and escaped abomination, in my opinion didnt really need to be nerfed, along with some past nerfs too like karma being moved to 6 (they should of just reworked her level up instead of the cheap way to nerf cards in just making it cost more). Even they who endure could of just been fine in where it was. I believe the meta would of been in a different more diverse spot had they just nerfed the yoink and just buffed the cards. When you nerf cards (or anything for that matter) you indirectly buff other cards, so when you nerf and buff at the same time, you shift the balance alot. Riot should make a test server where people can go in a give feedback on nerfs and buffs before pushing them live, as a way to test more possibilities that they cant think of when they are internally testing. Also black spear should of stayed at 2, and stand alone should of been at 3.

I want to see a Challenger deck featuring Thresh. Thresh is one of my favorite champions, but I never can get him to quite shine as needed. He's bulky enough for a 5 cost to survive a lot of punishment, but not threatening enough on the power side outside of early game. At least that's how I feel. Would truly love it if you would make a deck which features him and some other champion for some crazy win-con; I feel like I have exhausted everything I could try myself at my level. Appreciating any thoughts from you on this, even if you don't make a deck video.

Vladimir swain with phantom prankster/blighted caretaker/cursed keeper is fun to me at least and can take some games from higher tier decks, granted I haven't played much in the past week or so. All those 1 health tokens dying either vlad or prankster triggers that sweet sweet face damage (for swain level or stun), with both you get double the value. It's a bit counter intuitive but works far better than you might think it should on paper, especially if you come from the mindset that vlad and one health units dont mix.

I love your LoR content but as somebody who's relatively new to card games I'd love to see your opinion/stories of your experiences with other card games. There's only so many decks you can make that fit the meta enough to actually win at your level, so I'd hate to see you forced to make "meme" decks that aren't actually functioning just to try and have fresh content. Hey I got a brew for you. It's Ionia/Noxis control-ish Karma is the only champ and it has a focus on spot removal with some direct damage. Getting to late game, we have Captain Decimate. Enlightened Karma with Decimates in hand... Mmmmmmmmm I'm horrible at control so I'm still working out the list. But it is fun. Hard into some aggro. Late game decks is a coin flip depending on how the game progresses. But it's a blast.

Frostbite is pretty good against the current meta, just running frejlord will have the threat of harshwinds. So I think u should run a frejlord deck with a late game curve maybe running warmothers with shadowisles support for good healing and thick units

I feel it would be more powerful based on the fact you'll have double attacks with Kat. Obviously that would mean changing the deck a bit but I wanna see something like that with noxus instead of freljord. Maybe try something like that for a deck idea that can compete with current meta? Love the vids and love that theres a new one every day! Hopefully you see this

When i've seen the reveal of rise&tides and noticed the amount of direct damage they added to noxus with swain I was 100% sure that it was too much and I'm not playing THAT much. Burn Pilt/Nox stayed on top for 1.1->1.3 and just changed a little. For me aggro decks are the most destructive for a TCG ecosystem, they are fast to play, most of the time easy (if you didn't win before turn 7 you-fucked-it-up-type-of win condition) I've stopped MTG 10 years ago and seeing the same red direct dmg deck just changing from a standard to another on meta MTG website makes me cry everytime

I think the same could be said for people who want to make aggro deck concepts in a control-based metagame, or a control concept in a combo metagame

Considering the heavy aggro meta, it was kind of expected, since most cards added in rising tides were aggro cards, because of the theming of bilgewater itself. Knowing that targon is next in line as a region, and knowing targon's theme as a region in the lore, it would make sense that most cards in that expansion will be more defensive. Releasing that region first would lead in a more defensive slow "boring" meta. But once both expansions are out, the game should be more balanced in terms of offense and defense. I might be making wild assumptions, but again, considering the lore and the thematic of the rising tides exp, it would make sense.

Been playing a braum lux poro deck to climb surprisingly efficiently. 6 mana aurora with lux feels so good. Also has a pretty decent matchup against aggro if I make it to my radiant guardian
