It’s a very common spot to crash. I’ve had it happen countless times. Super frustrating. I’m thankful we play the game with auto save enabled, something that wasn’t being done when I ran due to it being “slower”, but with the discovery of character warps it’s now the faster method of running. Without auto save there is truly no way to recover a run, it hurts so bad. I almost quit speedrunning this game several times because I would have days where I spent 6 hours doing attempts, all getting to the 20 min mark and then crashing on spooner street. It’s the worst 😂

Damn this game has such surprisingly good textures and just the rendering in general. I grew up with a hundred and one different 3D video games based off of 2D cartoons between 2000 to now and this game seems to pull it off so well compared to other titles

Long story short on Bertram lore, Stewie at one point shrunk down to enter into Peter’s testicles (I think it was to render him infertile out of fear he and Lois would have another kid) and met him as a sperm (basically depicted as a fully developed baby in a sci-fi work uniform), where the two hit it off remarkably well after an extremely even fight to the death. In a later episode, Peter went to a sperm bank and knocked over a bunch of samples while trying to use the bathroom (he closed the door before flipping the light switch and couldn’t find it), forcing him to clean the mess and basically replace the lost samples himself on the spot. Literally the moment Peter left, a lesbian couple came in and ended up using one of his samples to conceive a baby. Thus Bertram was born, retaining his memories of his last meet with Stewie, and the two have been mortal enemies since.

I love the humility of showing ToxicPinhead performing all of the advanced [WR] pace strategies that weren't done in your run. Very much so advances the viewing experience. It's like those videos that trended a little while ago. "Easy, Advanced, Expert" and it shows 3 different ways of doing something. You can do the game the normal way, you can do it the speed runner way, or you can go for the world record with every difficult strat done sequentially. You don't really touch often on "the intended way" because the Speedrun features very little ! But the concept still applies I feel. Definitely earned a sub.

I love speed runs because honestly, most modern games have 0 love into them. These old games have so many layers and so much effort into them that they are still fun to this day. This might not be relevant, but I remember when you first ran this game back in the day and the record was over 2 hours. One time in a stream, I asked why anyone would speedrun a game that takes that long and your answer was "because it's fun". I never pictured myself running a long game, but that answer changed my perspective a bit and now I speedrun a game that's 5 hours long haha.
