This is a Hype Williams video. Pretty much every hip hop, r&b, just most black artists got him to do their videos in the 90s and early 2000s. This is back when music and artists were unique. Even their videos were unique and were like movie premieres waiting for a release because you knew it was going to be epic. Today every video and just about every artist sounds the same because once a sound is out and sells successfully, everyone jumps on that bandwagon so they all end up sounding the same and videos look the same with the same ingredients. The appreciation for individuality is pretty much gone with the occasional release if something a little different. Michael was and will forever be the King of Pop and the King of Videos but next far down the line would be Busta Rhymes, Janet Jackson, and Missy Elliot. Their videos were unique (and blueprinted by Michael), they told full on stories like mini feature films.

There were so many vids like this at the time... Michael & Janet "Scream" Madonna "Frozen" and Missy Elliot "Get Your Freak On" just three from the top of my head. Music videos were at their peak during this time I think.. and if you were big like Busta.. your team spent a LOT of money on the music videos. Every week people would wait for Friday's I believe it was that many new vids would drop!?! Anyway... the artists were always trying to top each other.
