How to Store Lemons and keep them fresh for up to 6 months instead of allowing them to spoil quickly at room temperature.
The best way to store lemons is in a zip locked bag in the refrigerator, after vacuuming out the air for long storage up to 6 months or squeezing out as much air as you can for short period storage.
Lemons or Limes may retain most of their juice and flavor for as long as 6 months, depending on fruit quality with storage temperature between 4º and 10ºC (39-50ºF) usually the lower shelves or crisp drawers are around this temperature, so they are the perfect spot in your fridge to store your lemons or limes for longer time and this is how to keep lemon fresh for long time in the fridge.
With this limes / lemons storage methods, your limes or lemons will stray fresh and juicy for longer.

The system of soaking in a gallon of water and cup of vinegar would work for all your produce. I usually fill up my sink with water and add a cup of vinegar let it set about 20 minutes. Remove from the water let it air dry and store in a ziplock in fridge. Your tomatoes, grapes, lettuce, cucumbers and so on. It’s pretty amazing that how much longer your produce will last in your fridge

Vinegar is a natural antimicrobial so it will work with any produce/fruit product. Been using it for years and you don't have to let the lemons/limes sit for 30 minutes. 5 minutes will be enough to kill the bacteria.

I used aluminum foil and wrap my fruits and veggies before storing them in the fridge/veggies drawers they will last up to 3-4weeks crisp and fresh. The aluminum foil traps the ethylene gas that releases from the produce and it will slow down the ripening process.

If you don't have a vacuum to suck out the air, do the following: Put the items inside the plastic zip lock bag. Submerge about one-fourth of the bag in water to displace some of the air. Partially seal the bag but leave a tiny opening just small enough to insert a drinking straw. With your mouth, suck out the excess air through the straw then carefully fully zip the bag closed.

Very smart! Limes are spoiled by mold. When you soak them in vinegar and then thouroughly wipe them, you get rid of most molds and create a low pH (hostile) surface for any remaining mold spores. All mold are aeorobic therefore it is very smart store lime in an environment with reduced levels of oxygen.

@ezy2Learn

I personally open the bag once every 10 days and take out lemons that will last for 10 days. Just remember it is all about the original condition of lemons before you store them. If you are going to store soft lemons, then don't expect them to last long. I only use freshly picked hard limes or lemons.

@@nobbywhey2726 Good to know! I just bought a smallish lime tree, but it already had blossoms and tiny limes on it. We planted it about 5 days ago, and it just exploded with flowers and the limes doubled in size, lol. I don't know what we did, but it's in a happy place. Plus, we are in sunny Florida.☺

Why didn’t they just pour the liquid onto the fruit instead of adding one or two at a time to the liquid

Both METHODS WRONG .NEVER USE PLASTIC BAGS FOR VEGETABLES, ,FRUITS.USE COTTON CLOTH ONLY FOR KEEPING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES.THEY SHOULD NEVER BE KEPT TIGHTLY PACKED.KEEP THEM LOSE IN COTTON CLOTH BAGS ONLY.

Why dont you add the liquid to the limes rather than limes to the liquid.
@ezy2Learn

Because you need to soak the limes in liquid to be cleaned

how to store fresh vegs in the fridge - buy a fridge with a built in green house like BEKO - fresh lettuce will keep in that fridge for 6-8 weeks - celery will continue to grow also. bosch also makes one but the poor quality and terrible customer service is a turn off and its costs more , BEKO has proven its quality.

I didn't understand your question! are you asking if you can store 10 to 20kg using my method ? if that was your question, then yes you can do it , just make sure to store quality lemons otherwise, you might get different results. Thanks

Thanks for this video. So both methods are to store in the fridge, not freezer. Use a freezer or vacuum sealed bag but the super tight one last longer than the other?

You can do the same with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries just soak in water and vinegar then store, vinegar kills bacteria and mold.
