F 106 v F 4 Speed

Which was fastest - the F-106 or the F-4? The books say the F-4 was slightly faster, but that was with clean aircraft. In combat, you carry missiles and usually drop tanks. I had a drag race with F-4s in Korea in a full combat configuration - and the F-106 won!
