We should never have put active boots on the ground, in _either_ country. @@PhycoKrusk Many people think this. It's false. The same missile fired from an F-16 and an F-15C has different characteristics. There is a compromise when the missiles are used with smaller radars or split air/ground radars that the APG-63v3 or APG-82 doesn't have.

The world is not dominated by 5th gen aircraft yet. I fact far from it. There are only 3 maybe 5th gen fighters in production around the world and 1 5th gen bomber. Air combat is still dominated mostly by 4th gen and newer 4th fighters like the block 70 f-16 and f-15ex that is just entering service

No F-15 has been shot down by air to air weapons. Several F-15E's have succumbed to ground fire, but it has drastically different performance given it's intended strike use.

What's crazy about the F15E is that it has a real world combat record of 104-0, but it still stands as a testament of how incredible the F22 is considering that in simulations, the F22 is 40-1 against the F15E. If you're not picking up what I'm putting down, as incredible as the F15E is, in practice it has been bodied 40 times by the F22 and has only bodied it once in return.

Them things are the best damn jets ever made. And to call them 4th generation is insulting, the F-15EX is every bit a 5th generation fighter capable out competing with and out-doing in many cases the best modern stealth fighters. These things are the best air superiority fighters of all time and are so much more adaptable and versatile than any stealth fighter could ever hope to be. Hell, a stealth variant of the F-15 exists already in the form of the F-15SE so yeah, these things will probably never die.. at least we hope so.

The Raptor needs another twenty-five years in service, during which it amasses another ninety-nine plus air-to-air kills (preferably vs fixed wing, peer-level adversaries) without sustaining any losses.
