F-150 EcoBoost Roush Cold Air Intake Kit 2.7L/3.5L 2015-2016 Installation

The "factory air silencers" (aka cheap tornado things) are supposed to be vortex generators created to help your turbo's consume air more efficiently and they simultaneously quiet the turbo whistle. The logic is that they create a vortex of air in the opposite direction that the turbo rotates. This opposite rotation of air forces the blades to consume more air than it would naturally.

Just a heads up gents Roush says in there instructions to NOT remove the silencers. They made a point to highlight it in the instructions.

It's not BS what happens is the vehicle ends up boosting higher (not exactly from the added flow) but because the wastegate duty cycle is calibrated for specific flow characteristics through the MAF, and the slight reduction in depressurization difference causes the turbo to make more boost as lower wheel speeds. Some ECU's tune out for this and show very little improvement after the ECU relearns on a Torque Based ECU.

What about the gap around the intake tube going into the new air box? Seems like that should be sealed better? Does Ford no longer have the relationship with Roush to eliminate warranty issues? I remember years ago, Roush Mustangs, Lightnings and other modified vehicles sold off the showroom floor.

I wouldn't start upgrading the engine till the warranty has expired on the drive train. Customizing voids the warranty. TRUE!!!

Laird Wilcox dealership said this nor exhaust would void any warranties. A fuel controller would however.

The factory manual said altering the air cleaner can cause engine damage. Will installing this affect the warranty? More air could make it run leaner. Do you need to remap any thing buy computer to avoid running hot.

i have a question, i noticed that you didnt print out the template and drill the 2 holes on the airbox to mount the bracket per roush instructions. is this not necessary or does it have to be done

The 2.7, 3.5 and the 5.0 use the same stock air filter. So how can the stock 2.7 air filter restrict hp?

It's really not the size of the filter is making it restrictive, it's harder for air to travel through the stock paper filter than a "high flow" air filter.

if there was a problem a dash light would pop up on your dash display ...I put one in and no problems and it gave my engine a little more torque

Oh I was mistaken on what you were talking about. You can choose to leave them in or remove them, all they do is reduce intake noise, it wont affect performance.

+Michael Stricklin call and ask another ford dealer near you and see what they say ive never had any issues with any of the cars ive owned putting aftermarket parts on...i have a 2013 fx4 with intake which also void warranty exhaust vta mod done 20x12-44 wheels 2" level no issues
