I was in 144th with the F-16 block 50. I loved that Falcon but was always a bigger Eagle fan. I have been removed from Cali since 1994 but was so happy when I flew back into FAT for a visit and saw a nice line of Eagles. Still pisses me off that they put a big wall up and removed the plane viewing parking area on McKinley and Clovis. The Griffin looks good on this old warbird. They might want to check the hydraulic seals on that there air brake though, lol. Thanks for the Vid.

Nice video why did you cut the vertical take off short at 1:20 that is one of the key maneuvers of the F-15 the demo seemed little lack luster but hard to tell if you cut lot of it out.

Hi there and thanks for watching. If I recall in correctly nothing much happened after the rapid ascent as he stopped it and turned. This wasn’t a full demonstration, instead just a couple of flybys. Still great to see this aircraft fly at an airshow as it’s really rare these days!

blastman8888 There is no F-15C demo anymore. You may see a few passes or a flyby from a local unit but the full demo was eliminated several years ago. There is an F-15E demo still. It has some similarities to the old C demo but has many differences to show the air to ground capability of the E model.

Last AFB Airshow I went to in March only flew F-35, A-10, and Blue angles years past we always got F-15, F-22, A-10 this video says F-15C looks like an C model no back seat from 2017 airshow the F-15C demo team ended in 2009.

blastman8888 I seem to recall the air force dropped the single ship demos when the 2013 budget issues occurred. Since then some have been brought back, although the F-15E demo has been eliminated for 2018. There used to be 2 each of F-15C, F-16 and A-10. F -15E and F-22 came along later and I believe 1 or both of the C teams was dropped. Anyway, currently there is one each of A-10, F-16 and F-22. There is also an F-35 heritage flight. You can check out the teams and schedule at the Air Combat Command website www.acc.af.mil/home/aerial-events/ Anytime you see anything other than the teams listed there u are probably seeing a flyover or a few passes or manouvers from a nearby or local Air Force or Guard unit.

Puts alot of stress on that speedbreak..I've repaired a few broken speed breaks from over speed...all depending on the pilot was wanting to do. Now that speedbreak is used for more than just slowing down.

That’s interesting Stephen. Have to imagine the hydraulics are quite powerful to resist the aerodynamic forces during and after full brake extension

I have. Usually for stadium/event fly-overs to increase noise and viewing time for the spectators. But yeah, also possible it could have been a mistake.

My understanding is that it can allow better throttle response especially in high aoa \ low airspeed situations.
